In particular, PV GAS has completed the 1 million ton LNG Storage Project in Thi Vai since July 2023 and is the only unit to date to be granted a Certificate of Eligibility for LNG Export and Import Traders in Vietnam.

Accordingly, from March 15, 2024, PV GAS officially deployed the supply of LNG for industrial production according to the integrated business model of LPG/CNG/LNG, providing customers with diverse product choices, flexible supply sources and quality, and competitive prices.

According to PV GAS General Director Pham Van Phong, supplying LNG for industrial production is an important milestone in the development of PV GAS's LNG value chain, including commitments to provide customers with green, clean and more environmentally friendly energy solutions; and to accompany the Government in implementing the commitment to Net Zero from 2050.

This also meets the needs of industrial customers with the requirement to switch to green production to meet new international standards in the energy transition trend. By offering an energy solution package according to an integrated business model including dry gas, CNG, LPG, LNG, PV GAS ensures to provide industrial customers with a set of sustainable energy solutions, competitive prices, along with many accompanying services on maintenance, infrastructure... will bring optimal choices, along with many added values for customers.

Another milestone in the LNG infrastructure development strategy

In the coming time, PV GAS will start construction of phase 2 of the Thi Vai LNG Warehouse with a capacity of 3 million tons/year, expected to be operational in 2026; implement the Son My LNG central port project in Binh Thuan with a total capacity of 6 million tons/year; and implement investment projects for central LNG port warehouses in the Northern and North Central regions. In addition, PV GAS also established agreements with the world's leading LNG suppliers to ensure a stable and competitive supply for the domestic market.

It is known that, to serve the implementation of the integrated business model, PV GAS is preparing to officially put into operation the Thi Vai LNG Tanker Truck Filling Station. The LNG Tanker Truck Filling Station has a designed capacity of 80 ^m3 /hour/each filling bay, equivalent to 190.5 thousand tons/year in phase 1 (with 3 filling bays) and 279 thousand tons/year in phase 2 (investing in 2 additional expansion filling bays) allowing the reception of LNG from the Thi Vai LNG Port Warehouse and filling it into tank trucks for transport to industrial consumers.

Thi Vai LNG tanker filling station is ready to serve customers from March 15

The Thi Vai LNG tanker filling station project started construction in July 2022. PV GAS assigned the Gas Project Management Company (PV GAS PMC) as the Investor's representative, directly managing the project, including selecting and signing contracts, managing progress, quality and costs of design, procurement, construction and testing. Previously, starting from May 2022, the project licensing procedures were carried out, with many difficulties despite the smaller scale than the LNG storage.

As the first tank truck filling station project, PV GAS PMC and the contractor have researched and studied LNG tank truck filling stations in developed countries and consulted the experience of many famous equipment suppliers in the world to be able to come up with a suitable design plan. For the procurement work taking place during the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war, the supply chain is at risk of being disrupted, PV GAS PMC has tried to work with partners to provide construction materials in accordance with the construction and installation progress.

Despite many challenges, PV GAS/PV GAS PMC and contractors have determined to carry out the project in an effort to complete the Thi Vai LNG infrastructure chain. The main equipment of the filling station includes the loading and unloading cluster (exporting boom, measuring equipment, safety valve, control valve) imported from Italy, Korea with quality verified at many filling stations around the world and the weighbridge from Switzerland with a famous brand in the field of tanker weighbridges in Vietnam and internationally.

The project is entering the final stages of testing and acceptance. With the tireless efforts of the leadership, staff of PV GAS/PV GAS PMC and contractors participating in the project, the Thi Vai LNG tanker filling station will be officially put into commercial operation from March 15, 2024.
