From chairman of the 'Children's National Assembly' to nominee of outstanding young Vietnamese faces

Dang Cat Tien, a 9/3 student at Thai Nguyen Secondary School (Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa), impressed with her excellent academic achievements and outstanding activities and has just been nominated in the top 20 outstanding young Vietnamese faces of 2023 by the Central Youth Union.

Recently, in the nomination of the top 20 outstanding young Vietnamese faces announced by the Central Youth Union, Dang Cat Tien was the youngest face and also the only student. Talking about this achievement, Cat Tien expressed her happiness and honor at being loved and trusted by leaders at all levels, teachers, family and the community. "I know that in the nomination of the top 20, there are many uncles, aunts, brothers and sisters with a lot of age, experience, many outstanding achievements and great contributions to society, so I really appreciate it and consider this honor as an opportunity to learn, a motivation to strive further" - Tien shared. Previously, in the simulated session program "Children's National Assembly" held in September 2023, Cat Tien passed many rounds of selection to play the role of National Assembly Chairman, along with more than 200 outstanding child delegates nationwide. Taking on this role, Tien learned about the guidelines and policies issued related to children and cybersecurity. In addition, Tien also seeks information to better understand the problems that children are facing, thereby providing comments and solutions to answer questions. At the same time, Tien has made suggestions to strengthen education, raise awareness of online safety for children, and integrate this content into curriculums. In addition, propaganda activities for children need to be carried out more and more deeply.

Ms. Tran Thi Thu Hoi (Tien's mother) said that the family always creates conditions, listens to her wishes, aspirations and dreams, and always encourages her in every step of the way. "My family and I have always been companions, always sharing joys and sorrows and supporting Tien. The achievements Tien has achieved are our happiness and pride," said Ms. Hoi. Talking about her upcoming plans, Tien said she will try to study and practice to be able to take the entrance exam to the English major class of Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted ( Nha Trang City ), and further, to step into university with a career that she loves. "For me, studying hard is the most important thing, because only when I study well will I have enough knowledge and skills to contribute more to the community in the future," said Tien.
