Posthumous promotion of police lieutenant who died while arresting drugs

According to the Ministry of Public Security's Electronic Information Portal, on November 17, the Minister of Public Security signed a decision to promote the rank from Senior Lieutenant to Captain for comrade Tran Trung Hieu, a police officer of Xuan Hong commune, Nghi Xuan district, Ha Tinh province, who died while on duty.

Previously, at around 3:45 p.m. on November 13, Senior Lieutenant Tran Trung Hieu, a police officer from Xuan Hong Commune, Nghi Xuan District, Ha Tinh Province, was on duty at Củi Market Temple (Nghi Xuan) when he discovered a suspect suspected of illegally buying and selling drugs. While approaching the suspect for inspection, Comrade Hieu was suddenly attacked by the suspect with a weapon, causing serious injuries.

Despite the dedicated efforts of doctors and nurses, and the care of his teammates, family, and loved ones, his injuries were too severe. Senior Lieutenant Tran Trung Hieu died at 6:35 a.m. on November 17.

In response to the heroic sacrifice of Senior Lieutenant Tran Trung Hieu, the Minister of Public Security signed a decision to promote the rank of Senior Lieutenant to Captain for comrade Tran Trung Hieu.
