Tracing the cause of water seepage in Le Van Luong underpass

Recently, Le Van Luong underpass has been experiencing water leakage in the technical box inside the tunnel. The water appears after every heavy rain.

The Hanoi Department of Transport determined that the cause of the water flowing into the tunnel was due to heavy rain, flooding the road, flowing into the electric cable manhole and overflowing along the electric wire pipe into the tunnel. The construction unit injected expanding glue to seal the tunnel to prevent water from flowing in. On September 20, units under the Hanoi Department of Transport went to the scene and fixed the problem. After the next rain, there was no more water flowing into the tunnel.

A representative of the Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board said that they had received information from the management unit, and that the project was currently under the contractor's warranty period. The unit had invited the contractor to the site, inspected it, and proposed a solution.

The project to build an underpass at the Le Van Luong - Ring Road 3 intersection started in October 2020 with a total investment of 698 billion VND, opening to traffic on October 5, 2022.

The underpass has a reinforced concrete structure, built directly in the direction of Le Van Luong Street.

The total length of the tunnel and barriers at both ends is 475m, of which the closed tunnel is 95m long. The cross-section consists of two separate tunnels, each 7.75m wide with two lanes for motor vehicles.

In parallel with the underpass construction, the construction unit has cut the sidewalk to widen Le Van Luong Street with a length of over 300m; cut the sidewalk to widen To Huu Street about 400m...

The underpass construction project at the Le Van Luong - Ring Road 3 intersection now has a total of 10 lanes in the direction of Le Van Luong - To Huu and vice versa, instead of 8 lanes as before, contributing to resolving traffic conflicts at the Le Van Luong - Khuat Duy Tien - To Huu intersection.
