American International School will hold a meeting for all parents and students on July 4.

On the morning of July 2, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ut Em, former President of the American International School Council (Nha Be District, Ho Chi Minh City) provided more information about the operation of the American International School after the suspension decision of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Ut Em, the American International School received the suspension decision because it did not provide sufficient documents to prove personnel changes and school restructuring plans.

Currently, the school is in the process of completing the documents as required by the management agency.

A group of investors is carrying out the necessary procedures to take over the operations of the American International School, the school representative said.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ut Em shared information on the morning of July 2.

As planned, on July 3, the school will hold a meeting with all staff, teachers and employees to inform them about the restructuring plan.

Then, on July 4, the school continued to meet with all parents and students to share information about the new operating situation. As of noon on July 2, 500 out of more than 1,200 parents and students had confirmed their attendance at this information session.

Previously, information from the American International School said that the unit had decided to appoint a new principal and change the personnel of the School Board.

At present, to implement the restructuring plan, the school must ensure financial resources and complete human resources, ensuring that the learning process of more than 1,000 students studying at the school is not disrupted or interrupted.

According to the suspension decision of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, the suspension decision is effective for 12 months from the effective date of the decision (July 1, 2024).

However, during the suspension period, if the reasons leading to the suspension are resolved, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City will consider and decide to allow the school to resume operations.

If the suspension period expires and the school fails to remedy the reasons leading to the suspension, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City will develop a plan to dissolve the school and submit it to the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to issue a decision to dissolve the school according to regulations.
