International University (Ho Chi Minh City National University) reserves 70% of its quota for graduation exam scores

This morning (March 1), the Admissions Council of the International University (IU) Ho Chi Minh City National University ) proposed 7 methods of enrollment in 2024 .

According to Associate Professor - Dr. Huynh Kha Tu, Head of University Training Department, International University (Ho Chi Minh City National University) , this year the school will enroll 23 regular university training majors (studying for 4 years in Vietnam with degrees granted by International University) and 20 joint training programs granted by foreign partner universities (USA, UK, Australia, New Zealand). The total expected enrollment target for 2024 of the school is 2,610 students, of which the majors granted degrees by the school with 1,970 targets and the joint programs with 640 targets. In 7 methods of admission apply, the school reserves up to 70% of the quota for considering high school graduation exam scores.

Method 1 is admission based on the results of the 2024 high school graduation exam, expected to account for 50-70% of the total target.

Admission principles Based on the total score of 3 subjects in the 2024 high school graduation exam according to the admission combination registered by the candidate. For the English language major , the English subject score will be multiplied by a coefficient of 2.

For candidates registering for an admission combination with English , candidates with IELTS Academic or TOEFL iBT English certificates will have their average English score in the admission combination converted as follows:

Method 2 is direct admission, priority admission according to the 2024 admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training (1% of the target).

Method 3 is to prioritize direct admission of excellent and talented candidates from high schools according to the regulations of Ho Chi Minh City National University in 2024 (1% of the target).

Admission objects are excellent and talented students in high schools; excellent and talented candidates in sports and art competitions. Applicable to high schools including primary-middle-high schools, middle-high schools and high schools, excluding continuing education centers.

Test subject This recruitment method requires the principal/board of directors of the high school to introduce excellent and talented students of the school, ensuring the following main criteria: Excellent academic performance and good conduct in 3 years of high school , average score of 3 years of high school in the top 5 students in the school. Combination criteria including: certificates or certificates of merit for excellent student awards at provincial / municipal level , first, second , third prizes ( choose the highest prize achieved in high school) ; international foreign language certificates ; certificates or certificates of merit, other documents related to academic achievements, talents in sports, art competitions and training during high school. The Admissions Board considers adding additional appropriate criteria during the admission process.

Method 4 is to prioritize admission of excellent students according to the regulations of Ho Chi Minh City National University in 2024 (5-15% of the target).

Admission objects is an excellent student graduating from high school in 2024 from schools in the list announced by Ho Chi Minh City National University .

Admission requirements including: graduating from high school in 2024 ; achieving the title of excellent student in 3 years of grade 10, grade 11 and grade 12 or being a member of the school or provincial team participating in the national excellent student competition ; having good conduct in grade 10, grade 11 and grade 12.

Admission principles : consider the average score of 3 years of high school (grade 10, grade 11 and grade 12) of the admission combination registered by the candidate. For the English language major , the English score will be multiplied by a factor of 2. Candidates can register for a maximum of 3 wishes in the school's majors. Candidates are only admitted to 1 highest priority wish in the list of registered wishes. For candidates registering for admission combination with English subject If you have an IELTS Academic or TOEFL iBT certificate, your average English score in the admission group will be converted according to In case many candidates have the same admission score, the school will consider the secondary criteria of international language certificate IELTS (≥ 6.0) or TOEFL iBT (60-78).

Method 5 is admission based on the results of the competency assessment exam organized by Ho Chi Minh City National University in 2024 (10-45% of the target). Admission principles are based on the results of the competency assessment exam from high to low until the quota for each industry is met. Candidates are only admitted to the highest priority wish in the list of registered wishes.

Method 6 is to consider candidates who have graduated from foreign high school programs or candidates who have graduated from high school and have international certificates (5-10% of the target).

Admission objects including: candidates is a foreigner or Vietnamese , has graduated from high school with a foreign degree in Vietnam or graduated from a foreign high school program according to regulations determined; have a grade point average (GPA) of 3 years of study from good or higher.

Candidates have graduated from high school and have international certificates such as: SAT - Scholastic Assessment Test; ACT - American College Testing; IB - International Baccalaureate; A-Level - Cambridge International Examinations A-Level; ATAR - Australian Tertiary Admission Rank ... The minimum score is specified as follows:

Method 7 is admission based on high school academic results (this method only applies to joint training programs with foreign partners, 15% of industry quota).

Admission objects Candidates who graduated from high school in 2022, 2023 and are expected to graduate from high school in 2024 .

Admission score = Average score of 3 subjects of 3 years of high school according to the registered subject combination + priority points (if any). For English majors , the English subject score will be multiplied by a factor of 2. In case many candidates have the same admission score, the school will consider the secondary criteria of international language certificate IELTS (≥ 6.0) or TOEFL iBT (60-78).

Each candidate can register up to 3 admission wishes. and only passed the highest wish. For candidates registering for admission combination with English subject If you have an IELTS Academic or TOEFL iBT certificate, your score will be converted according to as provided above.
