This afternoon (June 22), Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology announced the benchmark scores for the early admission method. This is the first admission method the school has announced results for this year.

Specifically, the method of giving priority to direct admission of excellent and talented candidates from high schools according to the regulations of Ho Chi Minh City National University and the method of giving priority to admission according to the regulations of Ho Chi Minh City National University.

In which, the priority admission method is according to the regulations of Ho Chi Minh City National University, the standard score for each major is as follows:

With this priority admission method, the school considers candidates based on the average score of the subjects in the admission subject group of grades 10, 11, and 12; essays and recommendation letters.

The admission score is the same for all subject combinations when that major/group of majors has many subject combinations. This score is also the same for majors in the same group. Students will be assigned to majors from the second year based on their wishes and academic results.

In case many candidates have the same admission score and the number of candidates exceeds the quota, the candidate with the higher English score will be admitted for the industrial management and English/advanced programs. For the remaining programs, the candidate with the higher math score will be admitted.

Candidates who have been announced as expected to be eligible for admission under the priority admission method/direct priority admission method (or any other early admission method) must re-register this wish at the Ministry of Education and Training's admission registration portal from July 10 to July 30. If they do not re-register, it means that the candidate will not use this result for admission.

Candidates who do not meet the admission requirements can still continue to apply for their favorite majors using the school's 5-criteria admission method. Candidates applying for admission using this method register their wishes on the Ministry of Education and Training's information portal from July 10 to July 30 and register additional information (personal information, high school transcripts, personal achievements, foreign language certificates, etc.) on the school's website.

In 2023, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology will enroll students in 5 ways.

• Method 1, direct admission according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and Ho Chi Minh City National University (1-5% of total enrollment target).
• Method 2, priority admission according to regulations of Ho Chi Minh City National University 10-15% of total quota.
• Method 3, considers candidates with international admission certificates or foreign candidates (only applicable to advanced English-taught programs) from 1-5% of total enrollment quota.
• Method 4, considers candidates planning to study abroad in international transfer programs for 1-5% of total enrollment quota.
• Method 5, admission combines many criteria including: capacity assessment test results, high school graduation exam results, high school grades, other capacities (certificates, awards) for 60-90% of total quota.
