A leader of USTH has just announced that the school has just been allowed to open a university-level pharmacy major, promptly enrolling 30 students from this year, 2023, with the major code 7720201. This is a 5-year training program, 70% of the program will be taught in English.
Biotechnology students at USTH University are studying in the school's lab, which will also be the practice place for pharmacy students.
The school will begin accepting applications from September 7-16, through the school’s online admission system. Admission will be conducted in two ways: based on the results of the competency assessment test organized by USTH; based on the results of the high school graduation exam.
Preliminary admission requirements and admission process depend on each admission method.
Regarding admission requirements, both methods require candidates to meet the following two conditions: have an IELTS certificate of 5.0 or higher, or a TOEFL iBT certificate of 35 or higher (or other equivalent certificates); take the high school graduation exam with one of the groups A00, A02, B00, D07 with a score of 22 or higher (floor score). With the admission method based on the results of the competency assessment test organized by USTH, candidates are additionally required to achieve an average score of 7/10 or higher in math, physics, chemistry, biology, and IT in grades 11 and 12.
Regarding the admission process, with the admission method based on the results of the competency assessment test organized by USTH, candidates are evaluated through 3 rounds: reviewing the competency profile; knowledge test/high school graduation exam results according to the combination; interview. The admission score is the total score of the competency profile, knowledge test score (converted from the high school graduation exam combination according to the weight of 1.5) and interview score. Admission is conducted on a 100-point assessment scale and ensures the school's input quality.
With the admission method based on high school graduation exam results, the candidate's admission score is the total score of the 3 combined subjects, with each exam/subject calculated on a 10-point scale. The admission principle is to take from the highest score down to the school's standard score.
