From the beginning, TDTU has determined its direction, creating an educational - scientific and technological institution following international standards. Many universities in countries and territories with developed higher education have cooperated with TDTU to train many undergraduate and graduate programs in many forms: granting dual degrees or single degrees (foreign schools grant degrees) for the forms of 3+1; 2+2; 1+1...
With modern facilities, equipment and an international standard learning, teaching and research environment, international students have also participated in studying and experiencing from a few subjects, to a whole semester, full-time at the school. Currently, TDTU has more than 400 international students studying full-time, concentrated training programs at the school.
In 2023, the school had the opportunity to welcome hundreds of educational and training partners from around the world, from Asia, Australia, and the US to visit, sign cooperation agreements, and implement specific annual cooperation programs with TDTU . Specifically, in March 2023 , TDTU welcomed a delegation of 6 New Zealand universities, in July 2023 , it welcomed a delegation of 20 Taiwanese universities; in October 2023 , it welcomed a delegation of leaders from 23 prestigious universities and the largest educational institutions in Canada,... As of November 2023 , TDTU has signed cooperation agreements with more than 160 international partners and currently has nearly 200 foreign lecturers and experts working and teaching directly at the school. November 6 , 2023 2023 Delegation from Saxion University, Netherlands visited and worked at the school, and taught joint program classes.

At TDTU, international student exchange and cultural exchange activities take place continuously and periodically , attracting nearly 2,000 international students every year to exchange, study and interact. At TDTU , short-term courses with attractive topics, updated with socio-economic development trends in Vietnam and the region, combined with unique and interesting Vietnamese cultural experience programs are regularly organized, bringing excitement and making an impression on international students.

In 2019, TDTU initiated, together with 9 prestigious universities in the world in the Czech Republic, Belgium, Netherlands, Poland, Denmark, Italy, Taiwan, and Korea, to establish the International University Association (UCI) to build a network of academic support and development.
TDTU is also currently operating an international high school in Vietnam established by a public university - Vietnam - Finland International School (VFIS). As a member of Ton Duc Thang University, VFIS operates under a non-profit model. The school was established under Decision No. 5834/ QD -HCMC of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee on November 7 , 2016 , marking an important turning point in the educational and training cooperation relationship between the Government of Finland and Vietnam. The first school year officially opened in August 2019 , opening a new journey to welcome students from all cultures and countries to join the VFIS learning community, which conveys the educational philosophies of Finland, a country with the most advanced education in the world. At VFIS, students will be equipped with the necessary skills, qualities and international mindset to succeed in the challenges and opportunities of today's ever-changing world.
VFIS currently offers two educational programs: the International Program and the Integrated Bilingual Program for students from grades 1 to 12. In May 2021 , VFIS was honored to be recognized by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) as an IB school globally and officially authorized to teach the International Baccalaureate Program from 2021. After completing the High School Program at VFIS, students will not only be directly admitted to TDTU, with the excellent training foundation from VFIS, they can also easily become students of Finnish universities as well as TDTU's partner schools around the world.
Currently TDTU has become an important international cooperation hub through the continuous expansion of cooperation, international education links, research cooperation with major universities in the world; attracting many experts and scientists to cooperate, work, exchange teaching, and especially attracting many regional and international students to study and experience at the school. With these encouraging results, TDTU is ready to participate and make practical contributions to realizing the policy of building Ho Chi Minh City into an international center of education and training attracting students from the region and the world.
