This year, Foreign Trade University plans to enroll 4,130 students for both its headquarters and two campuses in Ho Chi Minh City and Quang Ninh (30% higher than last year).
In the enrollment announcement, Foreign Trade University informed that in addition to opening the Computer Science major, the school also started enrolling students in the International Business major under the dual degree program with the University of Queensland, Australia, in Hanoi.

Foreign Trade University maintains 6 stable admission methods as previous years:
The school considers high school transcripts for three groups: those participating in national science and technology competitions for excellent students; those who won third prize or higher in city-level excellent student competitions; and those who are students of specialized schools.
The school considers candidates using international language certificates, applicable to advanced, high-quality, career-oriented and internationally developed programs. Foreign Trade University considers admission by combining IELTS scores of 6.5 or higher (or equivalent) with SAT, ACT, A-Level scores or high school graduation exam scores.
The school considers the high school graduation exam scores and the capacity assessment exam scores of Hanoi National University (100/150 or higher) and Ho Chi Minh City National University (850/1,200 or higher).
Finally, the school reserves the right to direct admission according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
As for the International Political Economy program (international development orientation), Foreign Trade University will conduct separate admissions and accept applications from May 6. Each province or city can propose a maximum of 5 candidates with the condition of permanent residence in the locality for 18 months or more, and commitment to return to work after graduation.
The National Economics University plans to open 6 new majors, of which 5 are related to engineering. Specifically: Data Science (in the field of Mathematics and Statistics), Software Engineering, Information Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Information Security (in the field of Computers and Information Technology), Labor Relations (in the field of Business and Management).
Data Science and Artificial Intelligence majors recruit about 100 students each. The remaining majors recruit 50 students each.
Previously, the school announced its 2024 enrollment plan, planning to enroll 60 majors and programs, with a total enrollment target of 6,200 students. With 6 new majors, the enrollment target is expected to increase to 6,600 students. Also according to the school's announcement, the Labor Relations major will train bachelors. The remaining five majors will train both bachelors and engineers.
According to the school, opening new majors plays an important role in diversifying and expanding training programs to meet social needs and enhance position in the context of international integration.
The work of building new majors has been identified in the general development direction and plan of the school, in accordance with the human resource requirements for the socio-economic development of the country, in accordance with the needs of society and learners.
