University of Social Sciences and Humanities announced the floor score, expected standard score to remain stable

On the afternoon of July 17, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) officially announced the threshold score to ensure the quality of regular university admission (floor score) using the results of the 2024 high school graduation exam.

The minimum score for admission based on high school graduation exam scores for 28 majors/training programs is 20 points, equal to the minimum score just announced by Hanoi National University.

The above scores are calculated on a 30-point scale, without coefficients and include priority points for subjects and regions according to current admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.

Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online , Associate Professor Dr. Dang Thu Huong - Vice Principal of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) - said that from the 2024 high school graduation exam scores just announced, the average score range of subjects this year is higher than last year, so the base score of the combinations may increase higher.

"However, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities this year recruited 2,300 students, an increase of about 300 students compared to last year. Among them are many majors such as journalism, psychology, international studies, tourism and travel services management, hotel management, public relations... the school reserved nearly 130% of the enrollment compared to last year.

In addition, all of the school's training programs reserve more than 50% of their admission quotas for candidates based on high school graduation exam results.

With the increase in quota, the school predicts that this year's benchmark score will basically remain stable, and if it increases, it may increase slightly compared to last year," said Ms. Huong.

Last year, the admission score to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities based on high school graduation exam scores ranged from 20 to 28.78 points.

Of these, five majors have a benchmark score of over 28 points, including public relations, journalism, Oriental studies, Korean studies, and psychology. Public relations has the highest score, 28.78 points, in block C00 (literature, history, geography).
