At the meeting, Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia highly appreciated the common development achievements that the Party Committee, government and people of Thua Thien - Hue province have achieved; including the preservation and promotion of traditional cultural values associated with socio-economic development. Thua Thien - Hue is a land of talented people, the capital of feudal dynasties and currently still preserves the Hue Citadel system with many tangible and intangible heritages of the Nguyen Dynasty recognized by UNESCO, showing the stature and great historical and cultural values that the locality has.

The Head of the Central Propaganda Department requested the Hue Monuments Conservation Center, with its functions and tasks, to do better in researching, preserving, restoring and promoting the massive heritage system left by our ancestors. The Party, State and Government have issued many favorable mechanisms to create resources for Thua Thien - Hue to invest in heritage restoration. The Hue Monuments Conservation Center needs to apply digital technology more strongly to promote and better exploit the rich cultural heritage resources...

Director of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center Hoang Viet Trung emphasized that after more than 40 years of construction and development, the Center has become a comprehensively strong unit, creating a brand as the leading heritage conservation unit in Vietnam. Hundreds of relics have been renovated and restored, including many large palaces and mausoleums with typical historical and artistic values. Intangible cultural heritages have been focused on research, conservation and effective promotion. The appearance of Hue heritage is constantly changing, gradually reviving to its original appearance in history and is growing with increasingly strong vitality.

Regarding the Project on Relocation of Residents and Site Clearance of Area 1 of the Hue Citadel Relic Site, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien - Hue Province Nguyen Van Phuong said that the locality has basically completed Phase 1 (2019 - 2023) of the Project with the relocation of about 5,190 households; arranging resettlement land for the right subjects and is implementing the cleaning and sanitation items, returning the site after the relocation of residents. With the consent of the Prime Minister, the province is completing the procedures to implement Phase 2 (2023 - 2025) of the Project, relocating 1,287 households in 19 areas, with a total investment in site clearance of about 664 billion VND.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong, currently, the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2021 - 2025 has allocated 300 billion VND for phase 2 of the Project, with about 364 billion VND remaining. The Prime Minister has issued a document agreeing that the central budget will continue to support the remaining 50%. However, in the context that the provincial budget is focusing on investing in other important and urgent projects, the Provincial People's Committee has reported to the Prime Minister for consideration of supporting an additional 200 billion VND from the central budget, 164 billion VND will be used from the local budget and other legally mobilized sources.
