In recent years, in Phung Chi Kien ward, Bac Kan city, Bac Kan province, many dynamic and creative members and farmers have emerged, striving to get rich and reduce poverty.

A typical example is a good farmer and businessman - Mr. Le Tuan Bao, born in 1957 in Group 10, Phung Chi Kien ward, earns more than 600 million VND per year from a comprehensive economic model including growing wild orchids, raising wild boars and raising commercial hybrid pigs.

Mr. Le Tuan Bao has achieved the title of excellent production and business household at the provincial level for many consecutive years.

Previously, Mr. Bao used his family's garden and hill land to grow vegetables, grow crops and raise pigs and chickens for sale.

But for many years now, when many households in the area grow vegetables and crops for sale, he has switched to buying wild orchid varieties that people find in the forest and then propagating them himself.

Mr. Bao propagates wild orchids using techniques and experiences that he learned from many wild orchid growers in and outside the province.

His family's wild orchid garden has many different types of orchids and always maintains about 300 pots of beautiful and rare orchids in the garden.

Mr. Bao grows wild orchids in a way that whenever he finds a customer who likes to buy and gets a good price, he sells them. After deducting expenses, for the past three years, he has earned 24 million VND per year from selling wild orchids.

The demand for wild boar meat is so high that he also buys more to deliver to customers who order. On average, in the past 3 years, he has sold 5 tons of live pigs, white hybrid pigs and wild boar.

Along with that, his family also raises meat chickens from native chicken breeds, native chickens, hybrid native chickens, etc., maintaining nearly a hundred chickens in the coop, mainly serving the family for parties and breakfast.

Taking advantage of the house's wide frontage right in the city center, Mr. Bao opened a breakfast restaurant selling pho, porridge, noodles, making rice to order, making parties to order, creating jobs for 10 local workers with an income of 300 - 400 thousand VND/person/day.

Additional income from livestock and services for his family in the past three years has been over 600 million VND per year.

According to Mr. Bao, building and developing an agricultural economic model is very difficult and risky, so it requires perseverance, creativity, learning care techniques, disease prevention and control, and regularly updating information on market demand to achieve high economic efficiency.
