Handing over cards and certificates to the first citizens to be granted identity cards under the Identity Law

On the morning of July 8, Bao Thang District Police organized a ceremony to present ID cards and certificates to the first citizens of the district to be granted ID cards under the Law on Identification.

The Law on Identification was passed on November 27, 2023 at the 6th Session of the 15th National Assembly and will take effect from July 1, 2024.

The law expands the subjects eligible for receiving applications and issuing ID cards to citizens under 6 years old, from 6 to under 14 years old, and from 14 years old and above.

Give identity cards to citizens over 14 years old.

For citizens under 6 years old, to issue this subject, the legal representative of the person under 6 years old must complete the procedure through the Public Service Portal or the national identification application. The authorities do not collect identification and biometric information for people under 6 years old.

At the ceremony, Bao Thang District Police presented ID cards and ID certificates to the first 15 citizens, those under 6 years old and those 6 years old and older.
