On the afternoon of July 17, in Hanoi, on behalf of the Presidium of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO), VUFO President Nguyen Phuong Nga presented the Medal "For Peace and Friendship among Nations" to Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Vietnam Nicolas Warnery on the occasion of the end of the Ambassador's term of office.
This is the most prestigious award of VUFO to recognize and honor the valuable contributions of Ambassador Nicolas Warnery in strengthening and promoting mutual understanding, friendship, exchange and cooperation between the people of Vietnam and France.
VUFO President Nguyen Phuong Nga said that Ambassador Nicolas Warnery has actively coordinated to successfully arrange high-level bilateral visits, promoted the regular maintenance of many exchange mechanisms in key areas, contributing to strengthening the good political relationship between the two countries.

During the tenure of Ambassador Nicolas Warnery, the French Embassy and the French Development Agency (AFD) have made great efforts to promote bilateral cooperation in the energy transition, climate change response and green growth. In addition, Ambassador Nicolas Warnery has played an important role in promoting many cooperation projects between France and Vietnam in the field of urban transport.
The Ambassador also pays attention to and facilitates local cooperation. Currently, 38 localities at all levels of France and 18 provinces and cities of Vietnam have established relations with 240 decentralized cooperation projects, mainly in the fields of health, education, development of the Francophone Community, rural development, and sustainable development.
According to VUFO President Nguyen Phuong Nga, taking advantage of favorable factors when the two countries have close relations and many similarities, cooperation in the field of culture and heritage conservation between Vietnam and France is a highlight during Ambassador Nicolas Warnery's term. France has actively participated in projects to honor Vietnam's museum heritage, creating conditions for expert groups from the largest French museums to cooperate effectively with a number of Vietnamese museums.

Ambassador Nicolas Warnery also pays special attention to peace, solidarity, friendship, and cultural and artistic exchange activities between the people of Vietnam and France. Since the beginning of 2023, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations, many rich and diverse activities to enhance mutual understanding between the people of the two countries have taken place in many provinces and cities of Vietnam and have had the participation of a large public, notably the 3D Exhibition on Quoc Tu Giam, the Festival "Walking around France" with food stalls, exchanges, experiences, etc.
During his time working in Vietnam, Ambassador Nicolas Warnery not only actively participated in foreign affairs activities organized by VUFO but also always paid attention to and created favorable conditions for people-to-people foreign affairs activities of the Vietnam - France Friendship and Cooperation Association as well as the Association of Vietnamese Alumni in France.
VUFO President Nguyen Phuong Nga believes that in the coming time, regardless of his position, Ambassador Nicolas Warnery will continue to pay attention and make positive contributions to people-to-people diplomacy activities between Vietnam and France, contributing to deepening the strategic partnership between the two countries.
Speaking at the event, Ambassador Nicolas Warnery expressed his honor to receive the Medal “For Peace and Friendship among Nations” from VUFO. Ambassador Nicolas Warnery also expressed his deep gratitude to VUFO as well as other agencies for supporting him during his time working in Vietnam. Ambassador Nicolas Warnery was pleased to see that the relationship between France and Vietnam has achieved positive results in various fields in recent times, and believes that the bilateral relationship will continue to develop in the future.
