Experience a puppet show imbued with Northern culture right in Da Nang

From July 1, people from the Central region and tourists coming to Da Nang will be able to explore the flow of Vietnamese culture at the Au O Theatre puppetry theater.

Puppetry - a traditional folk art form, born from the rice civilization. In which, water puppetry is a typical creation of the Vietnamese people, appearing and existing for more than 10 centuries. Vietnamese puppetry is a unique intangible cultural heritage of the nation, attracting viewers from many countries around the world. The performances are both funny, unique and attractive, following the artists, conquering audiences in 20 countries... However, not all people in the country have the opportunity to directly enjoy and experience this unique and valuable art form. Currently, Da Nang has a puppet theater named after... a lullaby: Au O.

In a series of summer cultural and sports events held, stirring up the coastal city of Da Nang, the show "Vietnamese Puppetry" is like a "low note", introducing a cultural space imbued with the character of the Northern Delta. People from the Central region and tourists coming to Da Nang can directly experience and interact with artists from the Vietnam Puppetry Theatre; enjoy smooth folk melodies, both familiar and new. The shows are elaborately staged from the script, props, costumes... leading the audience to explore the flow of Vietnamese culture through familiar folk stories integrated into performances such as: Song long hi thuy (Dragon Dance and Festival Drum); Duyen dang quai thao; Hat xa thuong; Telling the story of the harvest day; Spiritual dance... The special thing about the puppetry theatre stage is its novelty and modernity. The scripts not only introduce the quintessence of Vietnamese culture, excellently perform folk songs and traditional musical instruments, but also combine choreography, music, lighting... lively, with the breath of the times, attracting young audiences. The puppet show takes place daily at the Au O Theater, in the Da Nang Downtown campus, with a capacity of about 600 seats.
