After 6 years of restoration with a total investment of 1.1 billion yuan, Minh Thuy ancient citadel has a planned area of 2,406 hectares, and a construction area of about 800,000 square meters. Minh Thuy ancient citadel is known as the "miniature city of streams" with a system of more than 100 underground streams, of which Hoa Mai stream and Muc stream have the strongest water flow.
The special feature of the streams in Jinan in general and the ancient city of Mingshui in particular is that they are underground streams and erupt on the surface through "stream eyes". Many "stream eyes" locations have been built into stream lakes surrounded by stone-paved roads with rows of green trees, dotted with water pavilions or rows of ancient houses with blue bricks and black tiles, creating a quiet, ancient space.
