According to the agreement, the sponsor will cover all construction costs of the project according to the policy, planning, and design approved by Ho Chi Minh City.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Phan Van Mai, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, said that in the process of construction and development, the city's leaders at all times determined that they must promote all resources to quickly develop infrastructure and urban embellishment. This aims to make Ho Chi Minh City a fast-growing, sustainable city, worthy of being a major city of the country and integrating with the world.
"HCMC and the whole country have budget resources for infrastructure and urban development, but these resources are limited and do not meet the demand. Mobilizing social resources to join hands is something that the locality persistently and regularly implements," the Chairman of the HCMC People's Committee expressed.

Regarding the project just received, the head of the city government analyzed that the design idea of the water coconut leaf shape is an award-winning work of a prestigious international consortium, approved by the City Party Committee and People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City. Therefore, the political and legal basis of the project is complete, the remaining issue is to concretize the idea to serve as a basis for construction.
The leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee hope that this pedestrian bridge will not only serve the purpose of transportation and commuting, but also become an architectural work, a landscape highlight, a new tourist attraction on the Saigon River. Therefore, the design idea needs to be conveyed into the most optimal technical drawing.
Mr. Tran Bao Minh, representative of the sponsor, shared that the bridge is not only a new symbol of Ho Chi Minh City, helping to connect the two banks from District 1 to Thu Duc City, but also helps to illuminate the Thu Thiem New Urban Area.
The 1,000 billion VND pedestrian bridge shaped like a water coconut leaf in Ho Chi Minh City will be 500m long, starting from Ben Bach Dang Park (District 1) to the south of the central square of Thu Thiem New Urban Area (Thu Duc City). The bridge is designed like a soft, gentle leaf on the Saigon River, a familiar, rustic image of the Southern land.
