TPO - According to information from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, the Department is currently proposing to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee a plan to display fireworks at the 2nd Ho Chi Minh City River Festival.
As planned, the 2nd Ho Chi Minh City River Festival in 2024 will take place from May 31 to June 9 at Saigon Port, Hiep Phuoc Port and several tourist destinations in Ho Chi Minh City.
Compared to the first River Festival held in 2023, the second festival will be larger in terms of the number of events, the number of participants will also increase, the area of operation will also be expanded, and the festival will last longer.

Notably, at the opening ceremony of the 2nd River Festival taking place on the evening of May 31, in addition to the art program with the theme "Legendary Train" taking place on the Saigon River with more than 1,000 actors participating in diverse storytelling forms such as: contemporary music and dance; modern performance and entertainment technologies..... The Organizing Committee also plans to have 3 low-altitude fireworks displays along the banks and on the Saigon River.
Specifically, the 3 fireworks display locations are at the Saigon River bank area (Thu Thiem ward, Thu Duc city, fired on a fixed barge); at Ba Son wharf area (Ben Nghe ward, district 1) and at Landmark 81 riverside park area (ward 22, Binh Thanh district).

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, the three locations will not fire fireworks simultaneously but will fire in order 10 minutes apart for each location, in which the first location will fire at 9:30 p.m. and the next location will fire at 9:40 p.m.... With each location's fireworks display lasting 15 minutes, people will be able to watch special continuous fireworks displays lasting up to 45 minutes.
It is known that the first Ho Chi Minh City River Festival, which took place for 4 days from August 4, 2023 to August 7, 2023, was a great success, attracting nearly 54,000 international visitors to Ho Chi Minh City, an increase of 112.4% compared to the April 30 holiday of the same year. The number of visitors directly participating in the activities within the framework of the first Ho Chi Minh City River Festival reached more than 60,000 people.
The first River Festival has shown the potential for development of the event economy in Ho Chi Minh City when restaurant boats reached 100% capacity and increased revenue by 23% during the festival, inland waterway routes increased by 50% of passengers compared to normal, river bus routes, expressways and waterway tours increased by 15% compared to normal; accommodation room capacity increased by 20%.....
