TPO - Ho Chi Minh City invested 157 billion VND to renovate the 45,000 m2 landscape in front of Ben Thanh Market (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) into a new square space to serve the needs of the people.

Accordingly, the project is managed by the District 1 Construction Investment Project Management Board. The total renovation area is about 45,835 m2, including 4 sub-areas: The area around Ben Thanh market, the islet in front of the Railway Headquarters building, the area in front of the Ben Thanh quadrangle; the bow of the 23/9 park. The total investment of the project is 157 billion VND from the city budget. The project implementation period is from 2024 to 2026.
The project will renovate the overall landscape of the area in front of Ben Thanh market into a new square space, meeting public activities, public transport hub - central station, connecting types of transport, economic and social activities in the area.
The People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City assigned the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City to organize the implementation and take full responsibility before the People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City for the suitability, accuracy and consistency of information and data in the project investment proposal dossier.
The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee is responsible for directing relevant agencies to implement and complete the project approval dossier in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Public Investment and relevant legal provisions.
At the same time, paying attention to the aesthetic elements, the factors of preserving the architectural landscape of the Railway Headquarters and Ben Thanh Market, the restoration of the old monument needs to ensure the historical value, the integrity of the statue, and the restoration of the original values.
At the same time, strengthen inspection and take responsibility for project progress and quality; ensure management and use of capital to ensure savings and efficiency; ensure project completion according to schedule.
