Uong Bi City: Well prepared for the election of village and ward chiefs

Up to this point, Uong Bi City and communes, wards and residential areas in the area have actively prepared for the election of village and ward chiefs.

According to the plan of the Provincial People's Committee on implementing the election of village, hamlet and ward chiefs for the 2025-2027 term, the City People's Committee has issued plans and official dispatches guiding the implementation of the election of village and ward chiefs for the 2025-2027 term in the area.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Giang, Secretary of the Party Committee of Nam Khe Ward, said: Nam Khe Ward and other wards and communes in the area have carried out leadership and direction in preparing personnel in accordance with the spirit of the province's directive on implementing the model of Party cell secretary and village and neighborhood chief, ensuring that it is close to the actual situation of the grassroots... It is known that 10/10 communes and wards have issued decisions to organize elections, plans to implement the election of village and neighborhood chiefs for the 2025-2027 term in the area and established 99 election teams with a total of 722 members. These teams have made lists and posted lists of voters. 10 communes and wards have made lists of voters; 99/99 villages and neighborhoods (accounting for 100%) have collected voters' opinions.

Mr. Dao Ngoc Son, Head of the City Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairman of the City Fatherland Front Committee, said: The Standing Committee of the City Fatherland Front Committee has issued a Plan to implement and guide the election of village and neighborhood chiefs for the 2025-2027 term in Uong Bi City; directed the Fatherland Front Committees at all levels to actively promote their core role in each step of the election, focusing on the work of consultation and introduction of candidates with sufficient talent, virtue, enthusiasm, and trust from the people to elect neighborhood chiefs.

Up to now, 99/99 villages and residential areas have discussed and agreed on the preparation of personnel to be introduced to elect village and residential area heads in terms of quantity, criteria, structure, specific list and voting. By the end of November 27, 100% of residential areas in Uong Bi City had completed organizing conferences to discuss and collect voters' opinions on the candidates recommended for the head of the residential area with the participation of voters representing households, ensuring the time according to the law. Through the conferences, 99/99 villages and residential areas (accounting for 100%) have completed steps 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 on the personnel process; 98/99 villages and residential areas have a candidate list of 1 person and 1/99 villages and residential areas have 2 people recommended for election.

Mr. Vu Van Loc, Nui Gac area, Yen Thanh ward, said: The consultation was organized publicly and transparently by the villages and areas. The results of the nomination of candidates like this demonstrate the sense of responsibility as well as the high consensus and unanimity among the people. In the election of the head of the residential area for the 2025-2027 term, Mr. Nguyen Cong Khai, residing in Nui Gac area, Yen Thanh ward, was trusted and recommended by the Party Committee, the Front Committee and the people in the area as a candidate for the election of the head of the residential area. Mr. Khai said that this trust of the people is a joy, a pride but also a responsibility, if elected, he needs to promote his own capacity and responsibility to fulfill his tasks well.

It can be seen that the city has been directing and implementing the election of village, hamlet and residential quarter heads for the 2025-2027 term in a public, transparent and democratic manner in each stage; reviewing and preparing personnel according to the correct procedures; selecting party members with qualities, abilities and practical prestige in the community and in the Party cell, so that voters can elect the residential quarter heads. These steps are an important basis for Uong Bi to later carry out the process of electing village and residential quarter heads to the Party Committee to assume the position of Party cell secretary and residential quarter head in the area.
