Thu Duc City focuses on completing unfinished traffic projects

From now until the end of the year, Thu Duc City will focus on removing projects, especially traffic projects that have been under construction for many years but have not been completed. In particular, bidding will be issued and construction is expected to start on the Lo Lu road project, Nguyen Thi Dinh road project, and Ba Ca road and bridge construction project.

On September 27, the Thu Duc City Party Committee (HCMC) held the 25th meeting of the Thu Duc City Party Executive Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

Shorten 30% of procedure processing time to promote public investment

Regarding the socio-economic situation in the first 9 months and key tasks and solutions for the last 3 months of 2024, Vice Chairman of Thu Duc City People's Committee Nguyen Ky Phung said that up to now, Thu Duc City has achieved 14/29 targets and annual plans; 5/7 projects have been completed; 1/5 projects have started construction.

Thu Duc City has also completed 140/172 key contents; 442/752 emulation works for 500 days to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the Party's founding and the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification. Particularly for the 5 works registered for Ho Chi Minh City level, Thu Duc City has completed the investment and construction of 1,470/5,000 social housing units.

In 9 months, Thu Duc City's budget revenue is estimated at 53.6% (12,221/22,800 billion VND). Up to now, Thu Duc City has disbursed more than 713 billion VND out of the total assigned public investment capital of more than 10,389.5 billion VND (reaching more than 7%).

Head of the Economic Department of Thu Duc City Nguyen Van Dung added that in the near future, Thu Duc City needs to focus on disbursing investment capital for Ring Road 2; investors must develop a detailed plan for public investment disbursement from now until the end of the year.

Vice Chairman of Thu Duc City People's Committee Nguyen Bach Hoang Phung informed about the state budget collection situation of Thu Duc City.

Currently, Thu Duc City has developed a detailed plan, with monthly progress, and must reach over 90% by December 2024. Therefore, investment units and investors must develop specific plans and commit to implementing the above schedule. Thu Duc City's specialized agencies must also shorten 30% of the time to handle administrative procedures to promote public investment disbursement progress.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, Director of the Thu Duc City Construction Investment Project Management Board, said that from now until the end of the year, the focus will be on removing key projects, especially traffic projects that have been implemented for many years but have not been completed. Thu Duc City will also issue bidding documents and is expected to start construction on the Lo Lu Road project, Nguyen Thi Dinh Road project, and Ba Ca Road and Bridge construction project.

For the Hoang Huu Nam and Tang Nhon Phu road projects, Thu Duc City has worked closely with contractors and will have strong solutions. If necessary, contracts with contractors who have been dragging their feet and have not properly implemented the contract will be terminated. Thu Duc City aims to complete the above two routes by the end of the first quarter, or at the latest by the second quarter.

Speaking at the conference, Secretary of the Thu Duc City Party Committee Nguyen Huu Hiep highly appreciated the efforts of the city's political system in carrying out the tasks in the past 9 months; at the same time, he emphasized the limitations such as the recruitment of new party members, state budget collection, and the situation of illegal and unlicensed construction increasing compared to the same period. He requested the units to seriously propose solutions to effectively implement the set targets.

The Secretary of the Thu Duc City Party Committee also provided more information about the preparations for the grassroots Party Congress and Thu Duc City as well as the key contents that the city is aiming for in the next term.

In which, Thu Duc City identified 1 key content, 2 breakthrough contents and 5 on-site contents. Specifically, the key content is to build a clean and strong Party and political system, and build a team of cadres equal to the task.

He requested that localities, units of Thu Duc City and each cadre and civil servant must have a plan to effectively implement the orientations, with the spirit of "turning the pages of plans into material to serve the people with specific works and products".
