Two students have just been named to the prestigious ISEF honor roll: Nguyen Le Quoc Bao (class 12CA) and Le Tuan Hy (class 12B, Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted).
They are the authors of the project "Deep learning integrated software for segmentation and reconstruction of monolithic heart structures in simulated 3D space for medical practice application".

Recognizing and praising the outstanding achievements of the group of students and teachers of Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee decided to award certificates of merit from the City People's Committee to the two students above and Mr. Do Quoc Minh Triet, the teacher who directly guided the winning project.
Mr. Ho Tan Minh - Chief of Office of the Department of Education and Training (GD-DT), Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Delegation participating in the contest - said that the delegation encountered many problems with paperwork before the contest. However, the two students confidently demonstrated their abilities in the international arena, bringing proud achievements.
Leaders of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and Department of Education and Training congratulated the two prize-winning students and their instructors.
At the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Dung said that this achievement not only affirms the students' efforts in studying and the school's investment in teaching, but also the process of the education sector constantly innovating, creating an environment for students to study and research, and gain practical experience.

To maintain and expand the achievements, the education sector will continue to make efforts to promote the scientific research movement in high schools" - Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Van Hieu said.

Nguyen Le Quoc Bao shared: "I entered the competition with the mindset of exchanging and learning, and at the same time introducing international friends to more about the efforts of Vietnamese students." Quoc Bao believes that the competition is a stepping stone to help him better understand his strengths, weaknesses and passions, thereby having a better development plan in the future.
Le Tuan Hy expressed his pride in his achievements. He hopes that Vietnamese students will have more opportunities to participate in international competitions in the future.
ISEF is the largest annual international science and engineering competition for high school students. ISEF 2024 will take place from May 11 to 17 in Los Angeles, California, USA. This year's competition will feature students from 67 countries with 1,353 projects.
The Vietnamese delegation has 17 students with 9 projects participating in ISEF 2024, selected from 149 projects participating in the National Science and Technology Competition for high school students in the 2023-2024 school year.
In which, the delegation of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City includes 2 students from Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted with 1 project.
