Ho Chi Minh City proposes to increase lunch fees for boarding students to 40,000 VND/meal

Previously, according to Resolution 04 of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council in 2023, the prescribed fee for boarding meals at public schools was 35,000 VND.

From 2024-2025, it is expected to adjust the fee for boarding meals from 35,000 VND/meal/day to 40,000 VND/meal/day. The reason given is that the adjustment is due to market prices, ensuring the quality of meals.

Expected lunch fee from the 2024-2025 school year is 40,000 VND/student/session

In addition to the proposal to increase the fee for boarding meals, the draft also proposes to spend on educational services for graduation exam preparation for high school students (directly implemented by public general education institutions outside the school year) at VND 15,000/student/period.

The cost of foreign language and computer education services according to international certificate output standards is also proposed to be collected at 400,000 VND/month/student for foreign languages ​​and 180,000 VND/month/student for computer science.

In addition, this draft also adds the content of air conditioner rental costs and adjusts the collection level according to actual needs. The maximum collection level is 50,000 VND/student/month for classes that are already equipped with air conditioners and a maximum of 110,000 VND/student/month for classes that need to use air conditioners but do not have them and have to rent them.
