'Toyota and I learn Traffic Safety' spreads to thousands of students

Held annually and consistently for the past 19 years, the program 'Toyota and I learn Traffic Safety' has become one of the most typical traffic education and awareness raising activities for students. This is also a typical activity of Toyota in the goal of a safer and more civilized traffic, contributing to the development of Vietnamese society.

In the 2023 - 2024 school year, the program 'Toyota and I learn Traffic Safety' has come to teachers and students in 8 provinces and cities: Da Nang, Dong Thap, Hung Yen, Kien Giang, Lao Cai, Bac Giang, Nghe An and Dak Lak from December 2023 to January 19, 2024. In each province and city, the teams participated in useful activities: Learning knowledge and skills to participate in safe traffic; Drawing pictures together on the topic of traffic safety and presenting the content of the picture; Creating and conveying traffic messages through poetry, songs, rhymes, acting, etc. With the spirit of 'Learning while playing, playing while learning', knowledge and skills on traffic safety are cleverly integrated, easy to understand through real-life situations, creating excitement and helping students absorb better.

Along with that, teachers from schools in 8 provinces and cities also practiced traffic safety education activities; participated in the workshop on 'Innovation in traffic safety education methods in primary schools'. Through that, the program has contributed to equipping teachers with new methods to improve the effectiveness and quality of traffic safety teaching in schools. A teacher from Edison Primary - Secondary - High School in Ecopark urban area - Hung Yen province shared: 'Toyota and I learn about traffic safety is a useful activity after stressful hours of studying in class. Students have the opportunity to interact and connect with students from other schools in the province, thereby learning from each other, competing in a healthy way and conveying meaningful messages about traffic safety to their peers. We teachers ourselves also have the opportunity to learn new methods to improve the effectiveness of traffic education for students'.

It is expected that the national exchange round of the program 'Toyota and I learn Traffic Safety' will take place in March 2024 with many interesting activities: Attractively designed games; Exchange, learn and memorize traffic skills with special guests; Online game Toyota and I learn Traffic Safety. The prize for the winning team is a traffic island model, helping teachers and students have more props, visual teaching and learning equipment, and practice traffic safety effectively.

The program received a lot of response from students.

During its journey from 2005 to present, the program 'Toyota and I learn Traffic Safety' has reached millions of students in 61 provinces and cities across the country. Through the program, Toyota Vietnam has made efforts to coordinate with the Ministry of Education and Training, and the National Traffic Safety Committee in spreading knowledge, skills, awareness and responsibility to build a safe traffic system for the young generation, joining hands to create a more civilized and happier country.

In addition to this program, over the years, Toyota Vietnam has persistently organized and accompanied many meaningful activities on traffic safety such as: The program "Travel companion", spreading the message of safe traffic participation on the national VOV traffic channel, the National Film Festival on Traffic Safety, the Vietnam Traffic Safety Initiative Contest, etc. Traffic safety has always been the main pillar in the chain of activities to implement Toyota's social responsibility in Vietnam, along with the work of Environment, Culture and Society, Education and Human Resources Training. With a total budget for social activities of nearly 29 million USD during its nearly 30-year journey in Vietnam, the Japanese car company is gradually realizing the goal of 'becoming a good citizen in the local community'.
