In this Resolution, the Board of Directors of EVN assigned the General Director to direct departments and units to urgently implement the instructions of the Government leaders. Specifically, a document was sent to the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN), the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (TKV), and the Northeast Corporation requesting the provision of sufficient coal, gas, and oil for power plants to mobilize according to system needs; directing the immediate resolution of incidents at power plant units owned by PVN, TKV, and member units of PVN and TKV, especially generators in the Northern region, to put them into operation soon in June 2023.
Along with urging and directing Power Generation Corporations 1, 2, 3, and affiliated Power Generation Companies to ensure operations and improve flexibility in power supply, EVN's Board of Directors requested to update power supply scenarios according to the instructions of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, including scenarios of power shortage leading to power outage and reduction, and to organize to ensure fairness, transparency, and compliance with regulations, minimizing impacts on production activities and people's lives.
In addition, the General Director of EVN needs to prepare reports and accompanying documents and files to serve the work with the specialized inspection team of the Ministry of Industry and Trade on EVN's electricity management and supply. The Board of Directors of EVN requests that based on the provisions of law, instructions/directions of competent authorities, regulations of EVN and the direction and operation process, the General Director decides and is responsible for the content of the report and provides the documents and files as requested by the Inspection Team.
Previously, on June 9, the Ministry of Industry and Trade established an inspection team on EVN's electricity management and supply. Deputy Minister Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan was assigned to directly lead the inspection.
The Minister of Industry and Trade requested the Inspection Team to work impartially and objectively based on the provisions of the law and regulations, instructions of competent authorities and functional agencies; the situation and implementation results of EVN. In particular, it is necessary to clarify the supply and proactive provision of fuel for power plants; operation of the power system; mobilization of power sources (technically), fairness; power transmission issues; implementation of mobilization of transitional renewable energy sources... From there, find the right cause and solution to overcome the power shortage in the coming time.
