Overview of the Vung Tau - Binh Thuan coastal road project, after more than 1 year of construction.
Started in June 2023, the DT 994 project is nearly 77km long, with a total investment of more than 6,500 billion VND. The starting point of the route intersects with Road 991B, Phu My town, and the end point intersects with National Highway 55 (Xuyen Moc district), thereby helping to connect the East-West axis and with Binh Thuan province.

The entire route is designed to be expanded and upgraded to a scale of 6-8 lanes, with a speed of 80km/h, divided into 11 component projects.
Of which, 5 component projects were assigned to the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province Transport Project Management Board as the investor, with a total length of 57.46km. New construction of Cua Lap 2, Song Ray 2 bridges and some small bridges over terrain, land use area of about 241ha.

The expanded route mainly coincides with the existing road centerline, passing through Xuyen Moc district, Dat Do district, Long Dien district, Vung Tau city and connecting with the Cai Mep - Thi Vai port system in Phu My town.

According to the reporter of Nguoi Dua Tin on September 12, 2 of the bidding packages are being deployed and are under busy construction.
Specifically, at the construction package from Nha Lon Long Son roundabout to National Highway 51 (package 17) and the new construction package from National Highway 51 to Cua Lap bridge (package 18), hundreds of workers, engineers and machinery are urgently working to bring the project to the finish line on schedule.

These two packages have a total investment of nearly 1,500 billion VND, officially started construction in August 2023, and are expected to be constructed in two years.

In package 17, the road surface is basically complete, workers are constructing sidewalks and installing drainage covers. Meanwhile, in package 18, workers are busy rolling the ground, curbing the pavement, and constructing pile foundations and the base of Cay Khe 2 bridge.

Speaking with PV Nguoi Dua Tin , the representative of the unit operating package No. 17 said that the contractor is currently mobilizing about 20 machines and equipment and 60 personnel to continuously work in 3 shifts and 4 crews, overcoming unfavorable weather conditions during the rainy season to bring the project to the finish line and ensure contract progress.

According to the report of the Transport Project Management Board of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, the investor is currently making efforts to speed up the construction progress of component projects to ensure the implementation progress according to the plan assigned by the province.
Including the implementation of construction packages, compensation, site clearance, relocation of technical infrastructure... However, during the construction process, the project is still facing many difficulties and problems such as the relocation of some electric poles, procedures for converting forest land...
Along with important traffic projects such as Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway, Phuoc An Bridge started construction on June 18, 2023 and roads connecting to the expressway, the DT 994 project, after completion, will create a smooth, modern traffic network, connecting the infrastructure of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province in particular and connecting to the key economic region of the South in general.
