Seminar on stem cell application opens up new prospects in the treatment of musculoskeletal diseases in Vietnam

On November 12, in Hanoi, EVER Corporation Japan cooperated with MHC Corporation and Mikiyuukai Corporation to organize a “Special seminar on stem cells and specialized surgical techniques for musculoskeletal diseases with leading Japanese medical experts”. This event opens up new prospects in the treatment of musculoskeletal diseases for Vietnamese people.

Musculoskeletal diseases have been significantly affecting the health, working capacity, longevity and quality of life of the majority of Vietnamese people, especially when the rate of people with the disease is at risk of increasing and getting younger. According to statistics from the Vietnam Musculoskeletal Association, about 30% of people over 35 years old, 60% of people over 65 years old and 85% of people over 80 years old have osteoarthritis.

The Ho Chi Minh City Osteoporosis Association estimates that about 3.6 million Vietnamese people are suffering from osteoporosis, and it is predicted that by 2030, there will be more than 4.5 million people with osteoporosis, of which women account for 70 - 80%. This painful situation requires the health sector to come up with new solutions to improve the quality and effectiveness of treatment.

Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong - Senior Lecturer at Hanoi Medical University, Head of the Professional Board of the Vietnam Physiology Association spoke about the situation of some bone and joint diseases and their treatment in Vietnam.

Understanding that situation and with more than 1 year of experience operating in Vietnam in the field of providing regenerative medical services and stem cells, MHC Vietnam and EVER have collaborated with Mikiyuukai Group to come up with ideas and plans to apply stem cells and specialized surgical techniques in the treatment of musculoskeletal diseases for Vietnamese people. This long-term project was opened with an in-depth discussion held in Hanoi.

The seminar on stem cells and specialized surgical techniques for musculoskeletal diseases with leading Japanese medical experts had the participation of Mr. Nguyen Phu Binh - former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, former Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan, Chairman of the Association for Liaison with Overseas Vietnamese; Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong - Hanoi Medical University, Head of the Professional Committee of the Vietnam Physiology Association; Senior Expert Ohira Yoshifumi - Leading Expert in Regenerative Medicine, and CEO of Repair Cell Clinic - under Mikiyuukai Group; Expert - Doctor Sadanori Sakamoto - Chairman of Mikiyuukai Group, Director of Repair Cell Clinic; Mr. Doan Duc Tien - Chairman and CEO of MHC Vietnam; Ms. Ngo Mai - General Director of EVER Vietnam.

At the event, Mr. Nguyen Phu Binh commented: “Japan has the world's leading medical development. I am very happy that MHC and EVER Vietnam have brought the stem cell treatment method and specialized surgical techniques of Repair Clinic to Vietnam and hope that it will soon spread more strongly to bring positive effects in the treatment of musculoskeletal diseases for Vietnamese people."
