Organizing many cultural and sports activities to celebrate Lang Co being honored as a beautiful bay in the world

Lang Co Bay is one of the most beautiful natural landscapes in Vietnam, located between the two major cities of Hue and Da Nang, on the "Central Heritage Road" and the East-West economic corridor that is on the path of integration and development.

In May 2009, at the 5th Summit of the Worldbays Club held in Setubal (Portugal), Lang Co Bay was elected as the 30th member of the Club.

According to the People's Committee of Phu Loc district, this year, on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of Lang Co Bay being honored as a World Beautiful Bay; in order to continue to honor, promote, develop and preserve the beautiful values ​​that nature has bestowed on this land. The People's Committee of Phu Loc district will organize the program to celebrate "Lang Co - World Beautiful Bay - 15 years of Construction and Development" from May 10 to May 12, 2024 with many exciting and attractive activities, imbued with regional cultural identity.

Specifically, the celebration program will include many traditional and modern cultural and sports activities such as: Culinary exchange; Women's football; Bài Chòi; Artistic kite flying; SUP rowing; Fair combined with exhibition and introduction of local key products and OCOP; Ao dai performance; Cau Ngu festival; Traditional boat racing; Basket boat racing; Organizing a camp; Art program; Paragliding; Floating flower lanterns; Jogging race; Exhibition of paintings and art photos; Low-altitude fireworks display; Opening of Nguyen Van walking street.

Through this event, we aim to continue promoting the image of Lang Co Bay associated with the potential and strengths of tourism development of Phu Loc district to a large number of domestic and foreign tourists, attracting investment resources, promoting tourism development; contributing to the successful implementation of the goal of making tourism a spearhead economic sector of the district, creating momentum for growth and economic restructuring.

The leader of Phu Loc District People's Committee said that according to Decision No. 108/QD-TTg approving the Thua Thien Hue Urban Master Plan to 2045, with a vision to 2065, which has just been announced, Lang Co is oriented to develop in long-term association with the deep-water port, Chan May international industrial and commercial zone, Chan May urban area in the roadmap to build Thua Thien Hue into a centrally-run city, ensuring sustainable and comprehensive development of the functions of rest, living and working of a large urban area.

"The 15th anniversary of "Lang Co Bay being recognized as a World Beautiful Bay" was organized by the People's Committee of Phu Loc district in conjunction with the opening of the Nguyen Van walking street on the edge of Lap An lagoon. This is an activity to contribute to creating unique tourism products to serve the people, domestic and international tourists, and at the same time stimulate tourism, especially in the summer of 2024, creating a premise for the following years to make Lang Co an attractive destination on the North-South highway", Mr. Nguyen Hai Dang, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Loc district informed at the press conference.
