Organizing the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Digital Transformation Journalism Award

Ho Chi Minh City Department of Information and Communications organized a conference to coordinate the promotion of digital signature deployment in the area.

According to the Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City, the award aims to promote propaganda work, raise awareness, social responsibility and create consensus among all classes of people; promote the role, dynamism, sensitivity, creativity and honor the efforts of the press force in propaganda, responding to the theme of work in 2024 of Ho Chi Minh City "Determination to effectively implement Digital Transformation and Resolution No. 98/2023/QH15 of the National Assembly".

The contest is open to all reporters, editors, and members of city and central press agencies with permanent offices in the city.

The entries are timely and objective; have a lot of good information, suggest more problems and solutions; have creative expressions and perspectives, focusing on the following contents: Orientations, goals and tasks of the National Steering Committee on Digital Transformation, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, the City People's Council, the City Steering Committee for Digital Transformation; key contents of the 2024 theme of Ho Chi Minh City on implementing Digital Transformation; Technological solutions, typical models, with outstanding highlights on digital data in the fields of public administration, finance, education, health, communications, social security, tourism, transportation, construction, environmental resources, industrial production...;

Introduce and encourage typical digital transformation enterprises, public service units, typical digital transformation state agencies; individuals and collectives with creative and valuable products in the city's digital transformation work.

In addition, there are products and communication programs associated with the digital transformation program of the city and central press agencies with permanent offices in the city; other contents are in line with the direction and suitable for digital transformation work, the program to build the city into a smart city of Ho Chi Minh City.

The award is for print, electronic, radio and television newspapers in the following genres: reportage, notes, interviews, narration, quick notes, journalistic memoirs, etc. (Entries must not be fiction, fantasy or short stories).

Works must be published or broadcast from January 1, 2024 to November 30, 2024 and selected by the Secretariat of the Association or the Journalists' Association and submitted to the contest. For central newspapers and radio stations, confirmation from the Editorial Board is required. Each author or group of authors may submit a maximum of 3 works. For the category of Photojournalism (Photo reportage), each author or group of authors may submit a maximum of 20 photos.

The works submitted to the contest must have a caption, an introduction to the context of the event, and social impact. Each work must be sent a printed copy and a link to post the article. The printed copy must have a confirmation letter from the Editorial Board and the Journalists Association of the newspaper and radio stations. For radio and television works, the author must send the script and the broadcast link to the organizer's email, clearly stating the broadcast time and broadcast date, and a confirmation letter from the radio station that used the work.

The Organizing Committee plans to award 1 First Prize: 30,000,000 VND/prize; 2 Second Prizes: 20,000,000 VND/prize; 3 Third Prizes: 15,000,000 VND/prize; 5 Consolation Prizes: 7,000,000 VND/prize; The press agency with the largest number of entries: 20,000,000 VND/prize.

In addition, the Department of Information and Communications will propose to award Certificates of Merit from the City People's Committee to press agencies, reporters, and editors with outstanding achievements in communication work on the 2024 theme associated with the Digital Transformation program when the city summarizes the annual work program and the results of implementing the 2024 theme.

The award ceremony is scheduled to be held in December 2024.
