Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Phan Dinh Trac, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission, emphasized that Phu Yen is a land with a long history and heroic and glorious revolutionary tradition. Having gone through many historical ups and downs, the people of Phu Yen have always promoted the tradition of patriotism, solidarity, and stood side by side with the people of the whole country to make worthy contributions to the cause of national construction and defense in the past, as well as the cause of national construction and defense today.
During the two resistance wars against France and the US to save the country, Phu Yen was a heroic land, achieving many glorious feats, contributing significantly with the army and people of the whole country to liberate the South and unify the country.

The socio-economic infrastructure has been invested in relatively completely. Many large and key projects have been invested in, ensuring connectivity, smoothness, and creating regional development links. Culture, education, and health care have been given attention, and the material and spiritual life of the people has been constantly improved and raised. The work of building the Party and the political system has achieved many results; national defense and security have been maintained, and social order and safety have been ensured...

The victory on April 1, 1975 was the result of the Party's correct, creative and talented leadership in the cause of national liberation and reunification, deeply inheriting Ho Chi Minh's ideology.
From a poor province, in recent years, Phu Yen province's economy has developed strongly, the economic structure has shifted in the right direction, the economic growth rate in each period has always been maintained at a fairly high level, especially in some years when economic growth reached over 14%. At the ceremony, delegates and people of Phu Yen province enjoyed a special art program with the theme "Phu Yen - brilliant colors". The program introduced Phu Yen land with unique natural scenery, a convergence of 33 ethnic groups, containing cultural colors, long history, together creating the proud name of Phu Yen.
Responding to the North-South twinning movement launched by the Central Committee, 65 years ago, on January 9, 1960, the Party Central Committee approved the people of Hai Duong and Phu Yen provinces to become brothers.
Over the past 65 years, the people of Hai Duong and Phu Yen provinces have continuously preserved, cared for, cultivated and increasingly deepened their close friendship.
