The unlicensed Hong Ly oriental medicine facility in Binh Tan district shows signs of challenging state management agencies - Photo: Provided by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health
According to the Inspectorate of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, the unit has coordinated with the health department and functional forces of Binh Tan district to inspect a facility named "Dong Y Hong Ly" located at 517 Binh Thanh, Ward 2, Binh Hung Hoa B Ward.
At the time of inspection on December 26, 2024, the delegation recorded that at the above address, outside the gate there was a sign "Hong Ly Oriental Medicine: pulse taking - prescription - medicine dispensing - acupuncture - acupressure to treat diseases with oriental medicine products - infertility, early treatment of early stage cancers"...
However, Ms. LHL, the owner of the facility, did not cooperate with the inspection team, did not provide legal documents and did not sign the inspection report.
Upon verification, Ms. L. was granted a license to practice medicine by the City Department of Health, with the scope of practice being traditional medicine. At the inspected address, the Department of Health had not granted a license to practice medicine, but they hung an unlicensed signboard, advertised without permission, and exaggerated their professional abilities.
Because Ms. L. did not comply with removing the illegal sign, did not cooperate and did not come to work at the Department Inspectorate, on December 31, 2024, the Department Inspectorate coordinated with local authorities to draw up a record of administrative violations at the facility.
Once again, Ms. LHL did not cooperate and did not sign the minutes, and also slammed the gate shut while the inspection team was working inside the facility.
In response to the acts of challenging state management agencies when violating the regulations on unlicensed practice, the Department of Health requested the People's Committee of Binh Tan District to remove the signboard and closely monitor this address for unlicensed practice.
