State Bank increases USD selling price to over 26,000 VND, black market exchange rate increases 'hotly'

On March 21, the State Bank announced the central exchange rate at 24,813 VND/USD, an increase of 6 VND compared to the previous day.

The State Bank also increased the reference exchange rate between the Vietnamese Dong and the USD by 6 VND in both directions, listing the buying and selling prices at 23,623 - 26,003 VND/USD. This is the first time this agency has raised the reference selling price of the USD above 26,000 VND.

At Vietcombank, the USD buying and selling prices were 25,370 - 25,760 VND, up 20 VND compared to the previous day. Other banks also increased the USD price, fluctuating between 20-30 VND.

In the free market, the USD price also increased "hotly" again. Surveying at foreign exchange points, the USD price was bought at 25,870 VND, sold at 25,970 VND, an increase of 30 VND compared to the previous day.

Vingroup invests in Techcombank's insurance company

Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint Stock Bank, Techcombank (TCB), has just approved a resolution to contribute capital to establish Technological and Commercial Life Insurance Joint Stock Company (TCLife).

This insurance company has a charter capital of 1,300 billion VND. Of which, Techcombank contributes 1,040 billion VND, the rest are enterprises in the Vingroup ecosystem.

According to Techcombank, the life insurance market in Vietnam has great potential. At the same time, the large customer base of Techcombank and Vingroup is cited as an advantage for this bank to decide to open an insurance company.

The international exhibition specializing in tea, coffee, food and beverages in Vietnam - CAFÉ SHOW VIETNAM & TEA SHOW VIETNAM 2025 takes place from April 17 to 19, at the Saigon Exhibition & Convention Center. Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance changed its name to Region II Social Insurance, operating under a new apparatus from June 1.

According to news from Ho Chi Minh City Social Security, the unit will postpone the implementation of functions and tasks according to the new organizational structure from June 1, instead of April 1 as previously announced.
