Vietnam auto show "less fun", car company withdraws
After a year of suspension, the 2024 auto show (Vietnam Motor Show) will resume operations from October.
The important issue is that some imported and domestically assembled car manufacturers that are quite familiar at this annual event suddenly withdrew, confirming that they will not attend.
Some car manufacturers say that the exhibition costs a lot of money but the effectiveness is not commensurate. The amount of money for each manufacturer to participate ranges from 5-7 billion VND, depending on the scale of each manufacturer.
Because the auto market is still difficult, car companies are not interested in showing off new cars and modern car technology to customers at events like the Vietnam Motor Show.
"The exhibition started but the car company withdrew from participating. I'm afraid this time, the biggest new car show in Vietnam will be less fun" - said a car company representative.

Children receive vaccinations in Hanoi. The interruption of vaccinations due to a lack of vaccines in 2023 risks affecting the epidemic situation this year.
Hanoi records first measles case of the year, infected child has received 3 doses of vaccine
On April 21, the Hanoi Department of Health reported the first measles case in 2024, while no cases were recorded in the same period in 2023.
The patient is a 10-year-old girl (residing in Chuong My district, Hanoi). The child has received 3 doses of measles vaccine.
According to statistics from the Ministry of Health, in the first 3 months of 2024, the whole country recorded 130 measles cases, an increase of 1.4 times compared to the same period in 2023. Cases recorded in the previous year tended to be high from January to April.
Previously, the World Health Organization (WHO) also warned about the increase in measles cases and the risk of measles outbreaks in many regions around the world. According to WHO data, in the Western Pacific region, the number of measles cases increased by 255% from 2022 to 2023.
According to WHO, in Vietnam, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the disruption of vaccine supply in the Expanded Immunization Program in 2023 has affected the vaccination rate for children nationwide.
Many children have not been vaccinated on schedule and with enough doses in recent years, which is a risk factor for disease outbreaks, including measles. Experts recommend that the current way to prevent disease for children is to vaccinate them with enough doses and on schedule as recommended by the Ministry of Health.
The single measles vaccine schedule in the expanded immunization program is 2 doses, the first dose should be started as soon as the child is 9 months old, the second dose when the child is 18 months old.
