High political trust for aspirations of Kazakhstan-Vietnam relations to take off

Ahead of the official visit to Vietnam by President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Kazakhstan's Ambassador to Vietnam Yerlan Baizhanov gave an interview to the press about the cooperative relationship between the two countries.

Ambassador Yerlan Baizhanov said that during the visit, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will have a busy schedule. The President is expected to meet with senior leaders of Vietnam, including General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President Vo Van Thuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Chairman of the National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue. This demonstrates the importance of both countries to the first visit to Vietnam in 12 years by a Kazakh President.

Ambassador Yerlan Baizhanov believes that during the meetings, the leaders of the two countries will discuss in depth the core issues, affirm the high political trust between the two countries and promote the development of partnership in all fields.

Vietnam and Kazakhstan are both in a period of strong growth and rapid economic development. The two countries have many issues to discuss and propose to each other.

President of Kazakhstan K. Tokayev will visit provinces and cities neighboring Hanoi and visit large manufacturing enterprises there.

During the visit, the two sides are expected to sign more than 10 agreements. Of particular importance is the Joint Action Plan to promote economic and trade cooperation, creating a new foundation for economic cooperation.

The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Vietnam said that this is not simply a long-term trade mission but also about current mechanisms and promoting the two governments to support businesses in both countries.

Another important document is the agreement on visa exemption for citizens of the two countries. This will actively support tourism exchanges, contributing to enriching the investment environment, culture, education and people-to-people exchanges in general.

Ambassador Yerlan Baizhanov emphasized that he personally has high expectations for this visit. The Ambassador gave an example that in the field of trade cooperation, trade has developed very rapidly since the beginning of this year. Statistics for the first 5 months of 2023 show that the two-way trade turnover index increased compared to the same period last year. From these positive signals, the Ambassador believes that the results of the visit will promote trade development in a more positive direction.

According to the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Vietnam, to accelerate cooperation in all fields, the two countries need to simultaneously deploy many measures.

Ambassador Yerlan Baizhanov said that the two sides can establish cooperation institutes, sign agreements, establish committees, issue licenses and certificates to create premises, infrastructure and foundation.

But for effective cooperation, other factors are needed. First of all, it is the determination and will to truly raise the level of cooperation between the two sides so that these institutes and committees can operate effectively. To do this, there needs to be a deep understanding between the two countries. It is very necessary to establish new relationships - science, humanity, trade, education, information and culture, to exploit human capacity even more.

Practical cooperation is not only about opening new flight routes, but also about making people of both countries really want to be on flights, so that in their minds they have the desire to take off, and understand that the place they are going to will welcome them, Kazakhstan Ambassador to Vietnam Yerlan Baizhanov emphasized.
