Professor, Hero of Labor, Major General Tran Dai Nghia is a great scientist, an excellent representative of the Vietnamese scientific community, an excellent son of his hometown Vinh Long. He is known as the “king” of weapons, a person with great contributions to the development of Vietnam’s defense industry.
The contest attracted nearly 6,000 union members, youths and students in the province to participate. The Organizing Committee awarded 27 prizes to groups and individuals with high achievements. The contest is an opportunity for union members, youths and students to approach and understand more deeply the moral values, personality, and beauty in life, work and combat of Professor, Academician Tran Dai Nghia. From there, the young generation draws valuable lessons and gradually improves themselves.

On the same day, the Vinh Long Provincial Association for Promotion of Education coordinated with the Provincial Radio and Television Station to award Tran Dai Nghia scholarships to 110 students who were valedictorians of schools in the 2023 High School Graduation Exam and students who overcame difficulties to study well.
Vice Chairwoman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Quyen Thanh said that over the past 20 years, the Tran Dai Nghia scholarship has brought practical results, contributing to sharing, adding strength and confidence to students; at the same time nurturing dreams and ambitions for them to study and become useful people for society. This is a deeply humane activity, contributing to taking care of the province's young generation, doing well in social security work, educating patriotism, pride and gratitude towards Professor, Academician Tran Dai Nghia - an outstanding son of Vinh Long homeland.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Quyen Thanh hopes that the Tran Dai Nghia Scholarship Fund will always be maintained, developed and have more contributions to local social activities. Students receiving scholarships always keep their faith, live with will and determination, overcome all difficulties to study well, practice hard, and contribute to building their homeland Vinh Long to become more and more beautiful.
The Tran Dai Nghia Scholarship was established by the Association for Promotion of Education and Vinh Long Radio and Television in 2002. Over the past 20 years, the Fund has awarded over 30,500 scholarships with a total value of over 100 billion VND. This is both a reward to encourage students' achievements in studying and a source of encouragement, sharing, and adding strength and confidence for them to continue to strive to nurture their dreams and ambitions, and become useful people for society.
