Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan affirmed that Vietnam-China defense cooperation has been increasingly expanded and deepened in recent times, achieving practical results in many fields, and is one of the important pillars in the relationship between the two Parties and two States in the spirit of the Joint Statement reached by the two sides after General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's official visit to China in November 2022.

Accordingly, the two sides continue to promote effective cooperation in various fields, such as: Delegation exchange; Border defense friendship exchange; Defense strategy dialogue at the level of Deputy Minister of National Defense; joint patrols at sea by the navy and coast guard; coordination in managing and protecting land borders; cooperation in training and military medicine; support each other in preventing and fighting the Covid-19 pandemic...

Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan affirmed that the Ministry of National Defense and the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army always support exchanges and experiences between academies, schools and research institutes between the two countries; emphasizing the need to continue promoting this activity so that military officers of the two countries can exchange and learn from each other, contributing to strengthening friendship, understanding and mutual trust.
