Training thousands of senior officials
Speaking at the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his pleasure to visit the National Defense Academy and affirmed that as a leading center for education, training, scientific research and international cooperation of the army and the country, the National Defense Academy has made many contributions to the common achievements of the army and the cause of national construction and defense.
Accordingly, the academy does a good job of strategic consulting on military, national defense, and army building.
The Academy has trained tens of thousands of senior military officers, fostered national defense and security knowledge for thousands of senior officials of the Party, State and armed forces, trained hundreds of doctors and masters of military science, contributing to improving the quality of the cadres of the Party, State and armed forces.

Building an international-class National Defense Academy
The Prime Minister also stated that 2025 is of special importance, the tasks are very heavy, we must "accelerate, break through", and strive to successfully achieve the set goals.
Meanwhile, the world and regional situation is forecast to continue to develop in a complex and unpredictable manner, with difficulties, challenges and opportunities intertwined but with more difficulties and challenges.
The cause of building and defending the Fatherland faces many difficulties and challenges and poses heavy tasks for the army, including the National Defense Academy.
To fulfill assigned tasks well and contribute more to the army and the country, the Prime Minister requested that the academy continue to do well in a number of key tasks.
Accordingly, monitor, grasp, and correctly assess the world and regional situation, correctly assess the subjects and partners to provide strategic advice to the Party and State in building and defending the Fatherland, avoid strategic surprises, and respond to policies promptly and effectively.
Continue to improve the quality of training and education, actively contributing to the building and improving the quality of the Party, State and armed forces' staff, meeting the requirements and tasks in the new situation. Promote digital transformation, accelerate the modernization and application of science and technology. Update the impacts of science and technology on the military, defense and security sectors.
Effectively implement the foreign policy of the Party and State, promote foreign affairs and defense cooperation in a practical and effective manner; contribute to promoting military and defense relations with major countries, strategic partners, ASEAN countries and traditional friends. Well perform the task of training and fostering senior military officers for Laos, Cambodia and other countries.
The Prime Minister affirmed that the Party, State and Government always pay attention to leading, directing and creating favorable conditions for the National Defense Academy to become a modern military and defense science training and research center on par with other countries in the region and the world, with international stature.
The Prime Minister suggested developing a specific project, reporting and proposing to competent authorities to implement this goal, in which more attention should be paid to building the academy's brand and making English the second language at the academy.
The National Defense Academy, formerly the Senior Military Academy, was established on February 21, 1976. With its achievements, the academy was awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces in the renovation period.
