After listening to the reports of agencies and units and the opinions of some delegates at the conference, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong commended the outstanding results of the agencies and units achieved in the past time. Evaluating the results of the implementation of all aspects of work in May 2023, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong emphasized that the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army has directed the entire army to deploy and successfully complete the tasks. Notably: Maintaining strict combat readiness, grasping the situation, promptly advising and effectively handling situations, avoiding passivity and surprise, firmly protecting the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Fatherland.

Organize training, education and training for subjects according to the content, program and plan; conduct "3 explosions" inspection for new soldiers to ensure safety and better results than last year. Training, drills, competitions and sports events are organized effectively and substantially. Strictly deploy and adjust the organization of forces, ensure weapons and equipment for tasks. Regarding the direction of implementing the tasks in June 2023, the Chief of the General Staff requested the entire army to strictly maintain the duty regime and be ready for combat; monitor and grasp the situation, especially in key areas, borders, land, air, and sea; strengthen patrols, control, and prevent illegal entry and exit on the border; propagate and prevent foreign ships from encroaching on the sea and protecting the safety of Vietnam's marine economic activities; step up the implementation of measures to prevent and combat illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing.

Proactively advise and propose effective handling of situations, avoid being passive or surprised, firmly protect independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity; coordinate with functional forces to maintain political security and social order and safety nationwide. Report to the Prime Minister on planning the system of national defense works, military zones, ammunition depots, defense industry; planning the use of national defense land for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050; continue to develop the draft Law on People's Air Defense...

Direct agencies and units to organize training for subjects to ensure content, programs, and plans; check the results of phase 1 training in 2023. Promote the improvement of the quality of regular construction and discipline management; build relationships between officers and soldiers, new and old soldiers; strengthen military control activities, promptly rectify soldiers and military vehicles operating outside the barracks; patrol and guard to protect agencies and units.

Maintain strict rescue and relief on-call duty at all levels, proactively grasp the situation, advise and propose the use of forces and means, and promptly handle situations. Along with that, continue to effectively implement the following aspects of work: Militia and self-defense; defense diplomacy; investment plans, finance, defense economics; defense strategy, military science and technology, military history; legal inspection, etc.

To successfully complete the assigned tasks, the Chief of the General Staff requested leaders and commanders of agencies and units to uphold their spirit and responsibility, regularly follow reality, have synchronous and flexible solutions, organize implementation resolutely, thoroughly, and ensure quality and solidity.
