EXPANDING INVESTIGATIONS IN SOME CORRUPTION CASES
Last October, the political security situation and social order and safety in the area continued to be ensured. The armed forces strictly maintained combat readiness, coordinated to grasp the situation, and ensured national border security. Proactively advised on handling to prevent complicated incidents related to security and order from occurring.
The authorities have resolutely and synchronously deployed measures to prevent, combat, track down, and strictly handle all types of crimes and social evils such as: Crimes violating economic and environmental management order, drug crimes, high-tech crimes, etc.
Accordingly, the authorities discovered 65 cases, arrested 86 drug offenders, seized 720 grams of heroin, 208 grams and 1,574 synthetic drug pills, and 10.5 grams of crystal meth.
Detected 5 cases, 12 criminals using high technology, mainly gambling on the internet and fraud to appropriate assets via social networks, such as Department PC02 detected and arrested 1 case, 1 subject fraud to appropriate assets in the form of counterfeiting, buying and selling fake invoices via social networks, initially clarifying the amount of money appropriated 668 million VND.
Authorities continue to expand the investigation into a number of corruption and abuse of power cases; accordingly, they have prosecuted 3 defendants related to the case of "Abuse of power and position to appropriate property" occurring at the Investment and Construction Project Management Board of Tuong Duong district.
Investigation, prosecution and trial of cases continue to be carried out by the prosecution agencies in accordance with the law. A number of cases and cases under the supervision and direction of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and the Provincial Steering Committee on anti-corruption and anti-negativity are being focused on by the sectors.
Agencies, units and localities continue to pay attention to the work of receiving people, handling and resolving petitions, complaints, denunciations, recommendations and reflections from citizens.
The work of preventing and combating smuggling, trade fraud, trade in counterfeit goods, banned goods, poor quality goods, and food hygiene and safety has been promoted; the enforcement of civil judgments has had many positive changes; fire prevention and fighting measures, and search and rescue work have been implemented with attention.

Based on the forecast of the situation in the coming time, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee requested the armed forces to continue to maintain the number of troops on combat readiness; coordinate with local authorities to organize patrols, control and protect the sovereignty of borders, seas and islands, ensure national security, social order and safety in the area; carry out well the work of military transfer and receipt, avoid compensation, launch extensive propaganda campaigns...
Agencies in the bloc have strengthened their work of grasping the situation, ensuring security; ensuring absolute safety for important events of the province, high-ranking delegations of the Party, State, and international guests visiting and working in Nghe An.
Continue to handle and resolve complex, prominent issues that are of public concern; focus on effectively handling and resolving complex issues right from the grassroots level, avoiding passivity and surprise; ensure school security, especially preventing and combating school violence.
