Quang Nam opens technical traffic of Song Thu bridge and An Binh bridge worth over 900 billion VND

(NLDO) – The two bridges spanning the Vu Gia and Thu Bon rivers in Quang Nam province have a total investment of 928 billion VND.

On the morning of March 23, the People's Committee of Quang Nam province held a ceremony to technically open the Song Thu bridge and An Binh bridge to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Quang Nam province and the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee.

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province awarded certificates of merit from the Provincial People's Committee to collectives with outstanding achievements.

Song Thu Bridge across Thu Bon River is part of the project connecting National Highway 14H to DT.609C. The project has a total investment of 378 billion VND from the provincial budget; total length is 6 km, the northern bridge is 669 m long. The project starts at the intersection with National Highway 14H in Duy Phu commune, Duy Xuyen district; ends at the intersection with DH5.DL in Dai Thang commune, Dai Loc district.

An Binh Bridge across Vu Gia River is part of the project connecting DT.609C to QL14B; with a total investment of 550 billion VND; of which the central budget supports 440 billion VND, the rest is from the provincial budget.

The project has a total length of 3.93 km, of which the bridge is 1,060 m long (including the main cantilever section and 19 spans with Super T girders); the starting point intersects with DT.609C road in Dai Minh commune, the ending point intersects with National Highway 14B in Dai Quang commune, Dai Loc district.

Song Thu Bridge and An Binh Bridge are both 9 m wide; of which the roadway is 8 m wide. The road has an asphalt concrete structure with a 9 m wide roadbed; of which the road surface is 8 m wide. The entire route of the project is equipped with an electric lighting system.

The completion of An Binh Bridge and Song Thu Bridge will promote socio-economic development, helping people travel more conveniently.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thuong, Director of the Quang Nam Province Construction Investment Project Management Board, said that throughout the construction process, the project has applied the most advanced technologies, ensuring the quality and progress of the project. Each bridge span, each meter of road is the crystallization of intelligence, sweat and love for the homeland of Quang Nam.

"Song Thu Bridge and An Binh Bridge are not only traffic works, but also symbols of determination, solidarity, overcoming difficulties and aspirations of Quang Nam province" - Mr. Thuong concluded.

Mr. Tran Nam Hung, Vice Chairman of Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee, acknowledged that these two bridges not only demonstrate the province's technical capacity and project implementation organization, but are also a fundamental and sustainable solution to overcome the geographical separation, completely eliminating the form of traveling by boat, which has many potential risks of insecurity, especially during the rainy season. Now, people can travel, produce and trade more conveniently than ever.

"The completion of Song Thu Bridge and An Binh Bridge will not only help connect the communes of Tay Duy Xuyen and Dai Loc B areas, but also shorten travel distances, promote tourism and cultural development in the western districts, create conditions to attract investment, improve the quality of life and expand urban space, while strengthening national defense and security.

In other words, this is not only a traffic project but also a new development driving force, the people's belief and pride in a modern, growing and developing Quang Nam" - Mr. Hung said.
