On the afternoon of December 25, at the Party Central Committee headquarters, Politburo member, Permanent member of the Secretariat Truong Thi Mai, Head of the Central Organization Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Parliamentarians' Group, chaired talks with Chairman of the Presidium of the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Japan Shii Kazuo, who is on an official visit to Vietnam at the invitation of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Congratulating the new and important achievements and progress in the construction and development of the Japanese Communist Party over the past 100 years, Standing member of the Secretariat Truong Thi Mai expressed her strong belief that the Japanese Communist Party will continue to gain many new achievements and successfully organize the 29th Congress in early 2024.
The Standing Secretariat discussed the socio-economic development situation and the work of Party building and rectification, especially the achievements after nearly 40 years of renovation, 30 years of implementing the Platform for national construction in the transitional period to socialism, the important and quite comprehensive results in thoroughly implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress over the half-term, towards the goals to strive for by 2025, 2030 and 2045. The 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam assessed that the country has never had such a foundation, potential, position and international prestige as today.
Standing member of the Secretariat Truong Thi Mai affirmed the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, development, multilateralization and diversification of foreign relations of the 13th National Party Congress, highly appreciated the establishment of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries for peace and prosperity in Asia and the world, opening a new stage of development in the bilateral relationship.
The Communist Party of Vietnam and the Vietnamese people always attach importance to the traditional friendship, trust and mutual understanding with the Communist Party of Japan, and always remember and appreciate the valuable support that the Communist Party and the Japanese people have given to the Vietnamese people through different periods.
Standing member of the Secretariat Truong Thi Mai welcomed and hoped to continue receiving the active support of the Communist Party of Japan for the Vietnam-Japan relationship, including the relationship between the two National Assemblies and peoples of the two countries.

Expressing his joy at visiting Vietnam again, Chairman of the Communist Party of Japan Shii Kazuo congratulated the great achievements in both national development and foreign affairs that the Vietnamese people have achieved in recent years under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, headed by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong; and expressed his belief that the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam will lead the Vietnamese people to successfully implement the Resolution of the 13th National Congress.
Chairman of the Communist Party of Japan Shii Kazuo congratulated the two countries on upgrading their relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership, affirming that the Communist Party of Japan supports the development of relations between Vietnam and Japan and the people of the two countries.
Informing about the situation in Japan, the recent construction and development work of the Communist Party of Japan, and the results of implementing the revised and supplemented Platform approved by the 28th Party Congress, Chairman of the Communist Party of Japan Shii Kazuo shared the direction of activities in the coming time, including preparations for the organization of the 29th Party Congress in January 2024.
Chairman of the Communist Party of Japan Shii Kazuo affirmed that the Communist Party of Japan always cherishes the friendly and traditional relationship with the Communist Party of Vietnam, supports Vietnam in promoting its role, position and prestige in the region and the world, and shares Vietnam's viewpoints on issues related to peace, stability and development in Asia, including Southeast Asia.
The Communist Party of Japan highly appreciated the role and efforts of ASEAN in various fields, including the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific (AOIP). Chairman of the Communist Party of Japan Shii Kazuo also discussed the views of the Communist Party of Japan on a number of international and regional issues.
The two sides agreed to strengthen cooperation between the two Parties through high-level contacts, exchanges, information exchanges, organizing theoretical and practical experience exchanges, jointly contributing to promoting cooperative relations between the two countries, creating favorable conditions for Vietnamese people to work and study in Japan and people-to-people exchanges, and coordinating on international issues, including forums of political parties.
