* Receiving Mr. Vitaly Markelov, Vice President of Gazprom Group, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man assessed that in recent times, Gazprom Group - a strong energy group of the Russian Federation has effectively cooperated with the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group in the fields of oil and gas, energy production and exploitation.
Appreciating the joint venture of the two Groups, which has effectively implemented projects in both the Russian Federation and Vietnam, the National Assembly Chairman affirmed that Vietnam always protects the legitimate rights of investors, and the National Assembly and the Government always accompany foreign enterprises, ensuring stable and long-term operations in Vietnam. The National Assembly Chairman affirmed that the more difficult it is, the more necessary it is to promote cooperation and association, which will contribute to ensuring the interests of both sides, bringing the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the Russian Federation to more substantial results.
The National Assembly Chairman stated that within its authority, the Vietnamese National Assembly will try to create the most favorable conditions for businesses of the two countries to enhance economic, trade and investment cooperation.

The potential for cooperation between Vietnam and the Russian Federation is still very large, but two-way trade in the first 6 months of this year only reached 2.7 billion USD. The National Assembly Chairman said that cooperation in oil and gas projects will contribute to realizing the target of two-way trade turnover of 10 billion USD by 2030. He emphasized that energy is one of the key areas of cooperation in the bilateral relationship between Vietnam and the Russian Federation and needs to be promoted more strongly in the coming time.
Gazprom Vice President Vitaly Markelov thanked the Vietnamese National Assembly for its support in promoting the group's cooperation with the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group in the fields of exploration, exploitation, and scientific and technical research. He emphasized that the group wishes to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam and this is a favorable time for both sides to move forward, including the supply of LNG to serve the economic and social development needs of Vietnam.
Gazprom Group leaders also said they are ready to share their experiences with partners, including Petrovietnam, in oil and gas exploration and exploitation. They believe that the visit of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man will further deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the Russian Federation.
* Receiving Mr. Leonid Minkhelson, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Novatek Group , National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that in the context of the current rapid and complex changes in the world and the region, the two sides need to take advantage of opportunities to accompany and cooperate substantially and effectively, bringing benefits to businesses as well as tightening the cooperative relationship between the two countries.

Affirming that the Russian Federation is a leading comprehensive strategic partner in Vietnam's foreign policy, the National Assembly Chairman expressed his pleasure at learning that the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group and Novatek Group had exchanged a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in Vietnam; and said that the Government is currently submitting to the National Assembly amendments to the Electricity Law to build a synchronous, competitive, transparent energy market, diversify ownership forms and business methods, and create conditions for domestic and foreign investors to produce and do business in this field. The National Assembly Chairman affirmed that Vietnam is always interested in promoting cooperation with the Russian Federation in the fields of economics, trade, and investment, including the oil and gas sector of Novatek Group.
The National Assembly Chairman requested that corporations and enterprises strictly comply with the provisions of Vietnamese law and international law to create a public, transparent and sustainable production and business environment; he believed that Novatek Group and Vietnam Oil and Gas Group would soon have business plans and strategies in the coming time.
Thanking National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man for taking the time to receive him, a representative of Novatek Group said that the Group was established in 1994 with the main business areas being exploration, production, and processing of natural gas and liquid hydrocarbons. The Group is known as the largest independent natural gas producer in Russia. In recent times, the Group has participated in liquefied gas projects in Vietnam with Vietnamese corporations and enterprises.
Novatek Group representatives hope that the National Assembly and the Government of Vietnam will continue to improve the legal system and create favorable conditions for businesses to invest and do business in Vietnam.
