Thuan Nam: Summary of 5 years of National Border Defense Day

On November 23, the People's Committee of Thuan Nam district held a conference to review 5 years of implementing the National Border Guard Day and met and commended Border Guard officers participating in building a strong maritime border area (MBA) in the period of 2019-2024.

In the past 5 years, along with thoroughly grasping and implementing directives and resolutions of superiors, the District Party Committee and People's Committee of Thuan Nam district have regularly led and directed the dissemination of the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, legal documents related to national borders, border guards and effectively implemented the National Border Day. Thanks to that, the awareness and responsibility of all levels, sectors, localities and people in the district for the work of building and protecting sea and island borders have been increasingly enhanced; especially the awareness of the nation, national borders, sea and island sovereignty, compliance with laws and regulations on activities in the border areas of cadres and people have been significantly improved. Socio-economic development programs, consolidation of political bases, strengthening of national defense and security have been promoted, bringing practical benefits to the people in the border areas of the district.

The movement "All people participate in protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security in the new situation" has been closely implemented. Thereby, it has mobilized the combined strength, created comprehensive changes in the lives of people in the BGB area and border work; consolidated and maintained the trust of the masses in the Party and the State, built a strong BGB posture in the strong national defense posture and people's security posture, maintained territorial sovereignty, security and order in the BGB area, creating conditions for socio-economic development in the area.

At the conference, the People's Committee of Thuan Nam district awarded certificates of merit to 5 collectives and 10 individuals with outstanding achievements in 5 years of implementing the National BP Day in the period of 2019-2024.
