Thua Thien Hue supports businesses in updating information after "going up" to the Central level
On December 5, the Department of Planning and Investment of Thua Thien Hue province announced that it had just issued Notice No. on updating information on business registration certificates due to changes in administrative boundary information.
According to the Department, on November 30, 2024, the 15th National Assembly, 8th session, passed Resolution 175 on the establishment of Hue city under the central government and the National Assembly Standing Committee issued Resolution 1314 on the arrangement of district and commune-level administrative units of Hue city in the 2023-2025 period.
These Resolutions will take effect from January 1, 2025. Accordingly, from the effective date of the Resolution, the names of provincial-level administrative units; boundaries, names of district-level and commune-level administrative units will be changed. Therefore, the Department of Planning and Investment guides individuals and enterprises to carry out administrative procedures to update information on business registration certificates due to changes in administrative boundaries.

Regarding the procedure for updating information on business registration certificates, enterprises, branches, representative offices, and business locations of enterprises due to changes in boundaries and names of provincial, district, and commune-level administrative units shall comply with the provisions of Decree No. 01/2021/ND-CP dated January 4, 2021 of the Government on business registration.
Accordingly, enterprises submit a notice requesting to update and supplement business registration information to the Business Registration Office where the enterprise has its head office; the Business Registration Office receives the notice, reviews its validity and issues a Business Registration Certificate to the enterprise within 2 working days (1 day less than the regulation).
Regarding the implementation time, the enterprise is responsible for registering changes to the contents of the enterprise registration certificate within 10 days from the date of change. Therefore, the implementation time for the change will start from January 1, 2025.
Also according to the Department of Planning and Investment of Thua Thien Hue province, enterprises do not have to pay business registration fees in case of updating or supplementing information about phone number, fax number, email, website, and business address due to changes in administrative boundaries.
And to support individuals and businesses in updating changes in administrative boundaries, the Department of Planning and Investment of Thua Thien Hue province will arrange human resources to support on weekdays (including Saturdays and Sundays) at the Working Group to support small and medium enterprises of the Department of Planning and Investment.
It is known that the Resolution of the National Assembly establishing Hue City under the Central Government will take effect from January 1, 2025. Hue City under the Central Government will have a natural area of nearly 5,000 km2 and a population of more than 1.2 million people of the entire Thua Thien-Hue province. The city will have 9 district-level administrative units including 2 districts, 3 towns and 4 districts; 133 commune-level administrative units including 78 communes, 48 wards and 7 towns.
