Vietnam Olympic team was determined to create a surprise against Iran but the opponent scored early in the 5th minute after Motahhari's accurate header. The West Asian representative pressed the field and created many chances but did not score another goal in the first half.
Right at the beginning of the second half, Olympic Iran accelerated and scored 2 consecutive goals thanks to Saman and Mahdi.
Despite playing subjectively, Iran still got the 4th goal at the end of the match after Barzegar's close-range header.
Defeating Olympic Vietnam 4-0, Iran leads Group B of men's football at ASIAD 19 with 4 points (4-0 difference), while Saudi Arabia ranks 2nd (4 points, 3-0 difference).
Vietnam Olympic team is in 3rd place with 3 points, while Mongolia Olympic team has no points.
At 6:30 p.m. on September 24, the two Olympic matches between Vietnam and Saudi Arabia and Iran and Mongolia in the final round of Group B will take place. Coach Hoang Anh Tuan and his team need at least 1 point to keep their hopes of advancing.
