Early morning of September 23 (local time), the plane carrying Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Vietnamese delegation left New York for Sao Paulo to begin an official visit to Brazil at the invitation of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
On the first day in Brazil, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited Miss Saigon restaurant in Sao Paulo; visited the Brazilian aviation corporation Embraer. The activity concluding the Prime Minister's first working day in Brazil was a meeting with the Vietnamese community in Sao Paulo. In addition to attending the official welcoming ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will hold talks with President Lula da Silva, meet with leaders of the Brazilian Senate, authorities of several states and Brazilian businesses. Through these meetings, the two sides will further promote cooperation, deepen and substantiate the comprehensive partnership and bring more practical results. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited Brazil at a time when the two countries are looking forward to celebrating the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Brazil in 2024. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is the first Party and Government leader of our country to officially visit Brazil since General Secretary Nong Duc Manh's visit in 2007. Therefore, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's visit to Brazil this time is of great significance to promoting bilateral cooperation in the future and is a new milestone opening a new era of cooperation between Vietnam and Brazil. As Vietnam's number 1 important partner in South America, Brazil has the 5th largest geographical location in the world and a population of over 211 million people. This is truly a potential market for Vietnamese enterprises. In addition, Brazil is the gateway for Vietnam to enter Latin American markets, while Vietnam is the door for Brazilian enterprises to enter the ASEAN market and other Asian countries.
