After Cambodia successfully hosted the 32nd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 32) and the 12th Southeast Asian Para Games (ASEAN Para Games 12), Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen affirmed that the successful organization of these two regional sporting events belongs to all the people of the country of pagodas.
On June 10, speaking at a meeting with more than 16,000 workers from 12 factories in Kandal Steung district (Kandal province), Prime Minister Hun Sen emphasized that Cambodia had successfully organized the 32nd SEA Games and the 12th ASEAN Para Games, creating a buzz in the international arena. He said that this was the pride of all Cambodian people and country.
After days of exciting competition within the framework of the 12th ASEAN Para Games and the impressive closing ceremony at the Morodok Techo National Stadium in the capital Phnom Penh on the evening of June 9, the host country Cambodia continued to score points, receiving high praise from regional sports officials for its organizational capacity, as well as its great efforts in hosting the first regional sports event for athletes with disabilities.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the 12th ASEAN Para Games, on behalf of the ASEAN Para Sports Federation (APSF), APSF President Osoth Bhavila sent his congratulations and thanks to the Royal Government of Cambodia, the National Committee for Organizing the ASEAN Para Games of the host country, members of the organizing committee, domestic and international technical officials, and sports federations who joined hands to create success and unforgettable memories at this regional sporting event.
Mr. Osoth Bhavilai also thanked the fans and Cambodian people for their support and motivation for the disabled athletes to compete successfully.
“Over the past week, we have witnessed wonderful images of encouragement, support and enthusiastic cheering for athletes with disabilities. As the host, Cambodia has shown its capacity to achieve great success in its first-ever ASEAN Para Games,” said APSF President.
Previously, Ms. Wandee Tosuwan, Secretary General of APSF also praised Cambodia's efforts in successfully hosting the 12th ASEAN Para Games ; and expressed hope that from this success, Cambodia will aim to host international sports events for people with disabilities in the near future./.
