The Central Highlands General Hospital said that recently, information spread on social networks about a patient who died in Ea Nai village (Ea Kenh commune, Krong Pac district) after having his kidney removed at the Central Highlands General Hospital is inaccurate information, causing public confusion and affecting the hospital as well as the health sector.

Previously, on August 16, a Facebook account posted information: Mr. YNM (born in 1989, Ede ethnic group in Ea Kmat hamlet, Hoa Dong commune, Krong Pac district) had his kidney stolen. Information from the Facebook page said that Mr. YMN had dengue fever and was weak, when he was returned, the hospital operated on his lower abdomen, the incident happened on August 16, 2023 right at the Central Highlands General Hospital.

Regarding the above incident, Deputy Director of the Central Highlands General Hospital Trinh Hong Nhut affirmed that this information is completely false. The patient posted on social media is YNM (Male, born in 1989, residing in Ea Nai village, Ea Kenh commune, Krong Pac district) and not residing in Ea Kmat village, Hoa Dong commune, Krong Pac district as reported by the Facebook account.

According to the medical record, the patient had a fever at home for 4 days, was very tired, and was admitted to the Krong Pac District Medical Center for treatment for 1 day. Due to the lack of improvement and severe progression of the disease, the patient was transferred to the Central Highlands General Hospital on the evening of August 9, 2023 with a diagnosis of dengue fever monitoring. After 5 days of internal medicine treatment at the hospital's Infectious Diseases Department, the disease did not improve, with continuous high fever, fatigue, and impaired consciousness. The Intensive Care and Poisoning Department was consulted, diagnosed with septic shock/monitored for encephalitis - meningitis/dengue fever on the 10th with complications of multiple organ failure and was transferred to the Intensive Care and Poisoning Department for further treatment.

After 34 hours of treatment in the intensive care unit, combined with continuous blood filtration, the patient's condition did not improve, and became more severe. The patient was in a deep coma, with no improvement in respiratory failure and low blood pressure. The hospital explained to the family the serious condition of the patient's life-threatening condition and encouraged the family to let the patient stay for further treatment, but the family firmly wrote a commitment to return home.

Faced with false information posted and shared on social networks, the Central Highlands General Hospital has requested that the authorities investigate, clarify and handle the matter according to the provisions of the law.
