At 73, billionaire Richard Branson stays fit and active by playing tennis, then kitesurfing and cycling.
Richard Branson is a billionaire and founder of Virgin Group, a conglomerate with many subsidiaries operating in the fields of tourism , telecommunications, entertainment, and space. The largest businesses he runs are Virgin Atlantic, Virgin Mobile, the Virgin Hotels chain, and the Virgin Galactic aerospace company.
Besides his successful career, he is always famous among the super-rich for his fit and toned body even though he is over 70. Business Insider has taken a deeper look into Branson's daily habits, pointing out the habits that help him stay healthy.
Branson wakes up around 5 or 6 a.m., a habit he has had for many years.
"Getting up early gives me time to get things done and plan efficiently," he says. He likes to wake up early and get through all his emails before "most of the world is online," Branson wrote in a 2017 blog post.
Lately, he has been taking ice baths every morning, a habit common among celebrities and some Silicon Valley tech executives, such as Twitter co-founder and Block CEO Jack Dorsey.
Branson also plays tennis early in the morning, usually starting to sweat on the court around 6:15 a.m., he shared in an interview with Australia's News.com.au in December. He then goes kitesurfing if the weather permits.
Branson is famous for kitesurfing with model Denni Parkinson in 2009. He also participated in this sport with former President Barack Obama in 2017.

He then returns home for breakfast and a cup of tea to replenish his energy. He once shared that he can drink up to 20 cups of tea a day, but admitted that this is not a good habit and does not encourage others to follow.
He has a credo: a caffeine-free breakfast. He often eats high-fiber foods like muesli and fruit to keep his energy up.
After breakfast, the billionaire takes a walk on his 71-hectare private island. Branson bought Necker Island in the late 1970s for just $180,000.
While he's out for a walk, his assistant will help him read emails. He also sits down with his assistant at other times during the day to catch up on any pending work.
After work, he spends about 20 minutes exercising and interacting with customers before lunch.
At night, Branson might cycle to a nearby island before returning to the tennis courts. He enjoys cycling twice a week, and occasionally plays chess.
Branson likes to end the day with dinner with a group of people. He sees dinner as "a place to share stories and ideas." His favorite foods are egg sandwiches, vegetable stew, Shepherd's pie, and English roast.
After a busy day, he comes home at around 11pm and sleeps for about 6 hours.
